Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, easily and quickly used clamps Compared to similar clamps, I prefer these for two reasons: 1) The clamp pads are fully retained by the jaws - they don't accidentally/inadvertently slip-off and 2) Both tighten and release controls are well-designed ergonomically - they're easy/quick to use/adjust. Two other use considerations: 1) In general, the jaws of trigger clamps can move laterally a little bit during clamping - so pay attention to the alignment of the parts being glued and 2) Clamping pressures will be less than can be achieved using heavier-duty bar clamps with threaded adjusters.

I generally prefer the Irwin clamps, but it looks like Home Depot stopped carrying them. I couldn't pass up this deal though, 2 clamps for $18. The quick release is nice and comparable to Irwin. I would recommend this product (at the sale price) to other customers. My only complaint is that I wish the depth of the throat was deeper allowing for more clamping flexibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multi Use Clamp Purchased several of these with no specific project in mind. Now find so many uses, need several more just to keep up with my needs. Very handy and where in the past, needed two hand to set a clamp, can do so with one hand. Provides sufficient pressure, and with the flick of the release trigger can reposition or remove. Would definitely recommend to others and as noted above will personally purchase more in the future.

Had and Irwin clamp holding a 2 x 4 when it came off the sawhorse and boom just like that it was broken. Next day I happen to be at Home Depot and they these guys on sale! I picked them up to replace the broken one and they are just as handy and easy to use. The big difference I can see is the 'name'. They work great.

Can the jaws be reversed to create a spreader action?

Some clamps of this type can be used also as spreaders by placing the sliding jaw at the opposite end of the bar, but I don't see any mention in either the overview or the reviews about whether this model has that capability. This feature essentially doubles the utility of the tool, and will probably be the basis of which brand or type I purchase.

Hello Dad, This particular model doesn't have the release pin on the fixed head to allow the clamp to convert. If that feature is high on the list I recommend having a look and the model listed below. I hope this helps.
