Rated 5 out of 5 by from TIME TESTED ACCURATE AND DURABLE ! Ive owned this saw for close to 20 years now and it is still as accurate today as was when I first bought it ! I used it in my one man cabinet shop ! I havent needed to adjust the settings on it since the original tune up ,when I first purchased it ! Although my saw is the European addition ! Same saw except it came wired for 220 volt power and the arbor is 1” instead of the standard 5/8” or .065 which these American saws come with . This worked out better for me because my panel scoring saw also has a 1” arbor so I could use blades on either machine . Recently retired and downsized my shop and will be selling this saw and dowsizing to Dewalt single bevel 12” miter saw which also has a 1” arbor so I dont have to purchase new blades . Not sure why Dewalt went with the 5/8 arbor with these as most 12 “ and larger blades usually come standard with the 1” arbor. Maybe because they realize that most homeowners already have 10 “ blades with their table saws which have 5/8” arbors !

Other than the $300 price difference, what is the difference between the DWS779 and DWS780?

Asked by: Larrivee
The difference is the XPS work light. The DWS780 is equipped with the light and the DWS779 is not.

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure what is the cutting width at 90 degrees is and 45 degrees for the dws779.  I know what it says but others have said a width but was different thanks

Asked by: Boudreau
It cuts just over 16" at 90deg and 14" at 45deg , trick is you have to build a platform that rests on your saw's table . it gives specs in the instruction booklet that comes with the saw . you won't be able to cut as thick of material but it sounds like it works pretty slick .
