Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Hammer! I was surprised with the weight of this hammer! It is very solid and well made! We just recently used this hammer in our basement during our remodel. We had to take all the trim off and put new trim up around our whole basement. This hammer definitely made the job more bearable! The nail pull makes taking out old nails a breeze as it makes getting the nails started so much easier. I also love the rubber handle as the grip is super comfortable! This hammer is perfect for all of my household projects and I know this hammer will last us for years! If you are looking for a new high quality hammer, I definitely recommend this one by Dewalt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DEWALT'S 16 Oz RIP HAMMER. I LOVE THIS TOOL. A rip hammer is a straight clawed hammer as opposed to the curved hammer. I have a 22oz hammer that is over twenty years old, it's a beast, this hammer is a beauty in looks, balance, performance and cost. The features I enjoy are it's weight and balance, one piece steel construction,a side nail puller, and a magnetic nail starter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hammer feels good in the hand and the hard rubber handle covering provides a good grip. The hammer and handle are made of forged steel so it won't break. The black and yellow coloring make it easy to see if you lay it down at the work site. One unique feature is a small claw on the side of the hammer head to remove nails in tight spots that could come in handy. I have been a fan of Dewalt tools for a long time due to their quality and reliability. This hammer should be no different, just wish they could make it in the US.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This hammer has changed my life. It is gluten free, dolphin-safe, and gender neutral; all qualities I look for in my hand tools. It strikes objects with as much accuracy as I can impart to it, and pry things when said accuracy is lacking. I feel that it has made me a better person.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed to replace my old rip claw hammer after the wooden handle had broke. This Dewalt 16 oz Rip claw hammer is made of one-piece steel hammer so will not be breaking this handle. If does break it does comes with a Lifetime Warranty. The handle is an composite and surface has ribs and ruff surface to help you hold on it so it will slip out of your hand. The weight distribution is pretty good. Dewalt makes great products and this one does not disappointment me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, comfortable and versitile Loving this hammer! The solid shaft gives a firm hit, the grip is comfortable and cushioned. I especially like the nail and staple pulling cuts on the side. The staple puller is a real help when cleaning up after removing wall to wall carpeting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight - great for electrical work I bought this hammer to use in my contruction business and it is an excellent hammer. Very well balanced, feels great in my average sized hand, has a built in grip at the halfway point so when you have to choke up on it, it still feels right in my hand. The only problem is, at only 16 ounces, it isn’t good for framing or on anything where you need some weight and momentum in your swing. On the other hand, it is absolutely perfect for electrical work. The straight claw gets into those spots that were always difficult to get to with a larger/heavier hammer. Best of all, it makes driving wire staples enjoyable. Because of its weight and design it is easier to wield on projects that need a little more finess and control of your swing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Face wears quickly, hurts elbow, too light I've ran Estwing since I can remember, and thought I'd give this a try. It was a mistake. This hammer was the first time I actually felt pain in my hand from hammering. I made the mistake of buying a lighter hammer for around the house. It just has no momentum. The face got chewed up after 3 days of use.
