Rated 1 out of 5 by from 120 Bucks Worth of Garbage Bought these in July to replace a set of failing 18v NiCad units, anticipating upgrading to some 20v Dewalt products in the future. They work when you first charge them, but if they sit for more than a couple of hours after very minimal use, they're dead. For instance, you can drive 3 or 4 screws, then set the tool down for 3 hours, and when you try it again, the battery is done. Save your money and try something else.

The adapter kit is a bargain as it contains not only the adapter and two 20v batteries, but a charger, as well. I had read reports where some users had experienced difficulty removing the adapter from a tool, but I haven’t found that to be the case. I definitely recommend this adapter kit.

In Ontario, $226 with taxes in. Wait for it to go on sale. Regular price south of the border $119 - yes, you need to adjust for the conversion rate but nearly twice the price in Canada. Dewalt in Canada clearly have a profit problem and continue to gouge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Ive had this for a while. Probably 18 months. I thought it would be a great way to replace some of my aging 18 volt batteries. If you leave the battery on the adaptor in 24-48 hours it drains the battery dry. Back on the charger we go. Those 2Ah batteries are ok for light duty put them on a grinder with a zip cut wheel dead in no time.

Very good alternative to try and find 18V batteries. Less weight involved, as well, which prevents muscle fatigue while holding for extended periods of time.

Will this adaptor work with tools starting with DC ex: Drill DC988 & Saw Dc390

Hello RonL, Yes, the DC988 and DC390 can use DC9096 battery and that is the type of 18V the adapter is compatible with.

Will this work with a DW077 Rotary Laser? It is intended to work with 9.9, 12, 14.4, or 18 volt ni-cad, or NMH batteries.
