Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Package Deal Bought this last week. Charged the batteries and used the drill a few times. I was upgrading from an old Skil brand 3/8" electric cord drill. The new drill, batteries, charger and case is a good buy. Excellent quality, as I have found with other DeWalt products I have purchased. The drill has a well balanced feel, compact size and very smooth performance. The built in LED light is quite useful. I also like the 1/2" chuck versus the 3/8" on my old drill. I would highly recommend this drill for the typical DIY'er.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Underwhelming I bought this even though I have the DeWalt 12V DCD701, which I absolutely enjoy using because it is so light, compact and yet powerful. I wanted more voltage for some bigger jobs. This DCD708 comes with a 1.5 Ah battery, so wattage should be 20V x 1.5Ah = 30W. The DCD701 should rate at 12V x 2.0Ah = 24W. The Atomic just didn’t have the same overall power when drilling holes though. I got it for $99 with 2 batteries and a carrying case so it was still a good deal for a second drill.

Nothing on the web site tells you this. I could have just as easily paid for it on line for 129.00 and then picked it up. Now I have to return it and and then re-buy it on line. Really?
