Rated 2 out of 5 by from D 55154 really blows I spent a paint can full of money on the Dewalt D 55145. I thought blowing things off was needed. Dewalt must have known that my needs were blowing stuff. I took it home plugged it in and nothing happened. No pump pump pump noises, no buzz no click ,absolutely nada. I found the thermo overload was popped and needed to be reset. From the purchase center to my home the air compressor popped it overload protection? You know Dewalt ain't finding defects and sending them on to the consumer? So I pushed in on the reset and it started making pressure and at 115 psi shut off . I blew off my work bench and as the pressure dropped to the cut in pressure the protection thermo switch popped again. One time to blow my work bench off and I realized what I blew was MONEY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best compressor I've ever owned. I'm really not sure what's going on with all the poor reviews. Maybe I just got lucky, twice. I've been in the trades for over 30 years. I bought my first one of these around 2005 and it's STILL working today (2021). Daily use. -40 to +30 year round rain or shine. It is very hard to get started in -40 but all compressors are. I liked it so much that I bought another one in 2018 (that one works just as well) and I'm now considering buying a third. It can keep up with two average speed framers or roofers no problem. Two really fast framers or roofers and it starts to run out but just barely. Can run an entire crew of finishers easily. No problems running all day in +30 weather. There's a big fan on the motor that does it's job well. Note: The cord that comes with it really sucks. It's about as flexible as a brick and pulls the wires out of the pressure switch easily. It's an easy fix, but I'll admit it should never have come with that in the first place. It also draws a fair bit of power. Can't have much else plugged in on the same circuit. Otherwise, give it regular oil changes and forget about it. One less thing to worry about.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the greatest I purchased this to run my Dewalt framer. Starts up really hard. Doesn’t keep up with a slow pace. I definitely would not recommend this compressor

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor quality, bought new , worked once then stopped. pressure switch bad. willing to replace myself but the part in no longer available. the plus side is it was quite and got up to pressure quickly. most of my tools are Dewalt and would not expect to get this type of quality from there products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from work horse I have had this for. few years now, at least 5. it get lugged around, sits outside for weeks, never added any more oil, just plug in and go. every-time. I did nothing to maintain this and its still going strong. only this year the nuts and bolts started falling off. Ill be sorting that out soon and will change the oil. yes there is still lots, I don't know how because it would go for hours none stop, 2 guns and leaky hoses. you will run out of air if ur going fast while sheeting. but thats normal with a rig this size. all in all. It has worked out perfect for me. it is heavy but u can manage it on your own. Just not pulling up on scaffold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice compressor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this compressor for about two months now. Have used it 4 or 5 times. I haven't had any problems with it. It gets up to pressure quickly and maintains it. It's also much quieter than the compressor it replaced.

Oil

I notice that it is not an oilless motor so how often do you have to put oil in, and what kind does it take?
Asked by: ConstructionBeast
You can use just about any compressor oil. Please see the product below. I hope this helps.
