Rated 5 out of 5 by from work horse I have had this for. few years now, at least 5. it get lugged around, sits outside for weeks, never added any more oil, just plug in and go. every-time. I did nothing to maintain this and its still going strong. only this year the nuts and bolts started falling off. Ill be sorting that out soon and will change the oil. yes there is still lots, I don't know how because it would go for hours none stop, 2 guns and leaky hoses. you will run out of air if ur going fast while sheeting. but thats normal with a rig this size. all in all. It has worked out perfect for me. it is heavy but u can manage it on your own. Just not pulling up on scaffold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from needs to be warm I bought this as a returned item at a reduced price. This made it a very tempting purchase. I didn't really need a new compressor but at $199.00 I couldn't turn it down. This replaces my Porter Cable compressor which had a tendency to stall out occasionally when it was trying to start up. The Dewalt is a much heavier unit than the PC but it is on wheels for ease of moving around on a flat surface. The wheels really do not help in going up or down stairs, they are to small in diameter to roll over the leading edge of the step. This design forces you to lift it over and up each stair. This little tank weighs in at 95 pounds so be prepared for some heavy hauling if you are doing work on the second or third story and be extra careful on the way down if you are by yourself! This unit will stall and kick out its own circuit breaker or the circuit in your house if the oil is to thick from sitting in a colder environment. I have it in my garage where the temperature is usually above 40F. If I want to use it at these temperatures or lower I need to first bring it in the house to let the oil warm up before I start it. Once it is warmed up it seems to run fine in the colder temperatures but it is a pain to have prep it first. The compressor itself is quiet and seems dependable so far. I likely would rate it 5 stars except for the two annoyances I mentioned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best compressor I've ever owned. I'm really not sure what's going on with all the poor reviews. Maybe I just got lucky, twice. I've been in the trades for over 30 years. I bought my first one of these around 2005 and it's STILL working today (2021). Daily use. -40 to +30 year round rain or shine. It is very hard to get started in -40 but all compressors are. I liked it so much that I bought another one in 2018 (that one works just as well) and I'm now considering buying a third. It can keep up with two average speed framers or roofers no problem. Two really fast framers or roofers and it starts to run out but just barely. Can run an entire crew of finishers easily. No problems running all day in +30 weather. There's a big fan on the motor that does it's job well. Note: The cord that comes with it really sucks. It's about as flexible as a brick and pulls the wires out of the pressure switch easily. It's an easy fix, but I'll admit it should never have come with that in the first place. It also draws a fair bit of power. Can't have much else plugged in on the same circuit. Otherwise, give it regular oil changes and forget about it. One less thing to worry about.

will this compresser run air sanders and grider well

Asked by: Anonymous
Well, Some air tools needs a certain amount of cubic foot per minutes usually at 90 pounds per square inch to work as they should.." CFM AT 90 psi"...check your tool "specs" to see how many "CFM at 90 psi " it needs to perform well.....

can this unit be used for painting, around the house?

Can this unit be used for painting?
Asked by: Anonymous
Air is not the best method of spraying interior paint but this compressor likely could be used. You must compare the gun's minimum requirement of air volume (CFM) needed to work properly to the compressor's. This unit provides 4.0 CFM at 90 PSI. If the compressor can't provide the minimum amount of air you will need to stop and let it "catch up" by refilling the tank. Oil

I notice that it is not an oilless motor so how often do you have to put oil in, and what kind does it take?
Asked by: ConstructionBeast
You can use just about any compressor oil. Please see the product below. I hope this helps.
