Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short Switch Life Bought this switch about 10 months ago. Worked great for about 8. About 2 months ago the switch would turn the fan on when we entered the bathroom. We figured the movement was mixing the air and the switch was detecting humidity and turning the fan on. A month ago we started noticing the switching turning the fan on frequency throughout the day. This past week the switch has been on. If we shut it off the switch turns back on a few seconds later. The blue power light is now blinking when the switch is on. I cannot recommend this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fan humidity sensor too sensitive set at low I bought this 6 weeks ago and now that it has become humid the fan keeps turning on even at the lowest moisture sensitivity settings. Would not recommend for any area where there is summer humidity. Going to replace with a timer switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item Easy to install and works great. Never have to turn on or off the fan switch when showering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DewStop Humidity Fan Switch & Time There are other models that might suit your purpose but this is the features that I needed. Adjustable moisture level and adjustable length of time for the fan plus the 'turn on now' button which is crucial in a bathroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well. I just installed a competitor model made by Leviton and it's faulty. We have this Dew Stop model in our other bathroom and it works as it should. I like it a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I recommend Works well although is rather sensitive and has a tendency to turn on randomly.

Is neutral wire required

Asked by: Mom4
Yes, neutral is required but there are ways to wire by using a ground wire. To do this properly, you need to consult and electrician. For wiring instructions and diagram, please refer to section D in the instruction manual.. What happens if you turn on the fan manually? Will it switch off right away when there's no moisture? Or has to be switched off manually?

Asked by: Dennyk
Press the “Fan ON/OFF” button once to manually turn fan ON, and again to turn fan OFF. When the fan is turned ON manually, the countdown timer will run your fan for your selected period of time, then turn your fan OFF.

As far as I know there are only two wires (besides ground) that come from any given electrical appliance; these connect to your house's hot and neutral wires at the junction box. So what is this third "fan wire" and what does it connect to?

Asked by: customer
The third wire is red and it connects to the fan. The black and white should be power but you will need an electricity tester. Please contact a licensed electrician to be sure.

I have a switch that continuously cycles on and off even when there is no condenstaion present ( shower or bath ) The switch was purchased and installed on January 2021 I have adjusted the sensitivity but the switch continues to cycle on and off?

Asked by: Antwan
I gave up trying to adjust them, I have 2, could never find the right setting. Come on in the middle if the night. Now they don’t adjust at all, use them manually. Waste of $$

I installed one of these 6 months ago. It started off working as expected, but now it keeps turning the fan on unexpectedly, even with the sensitivity set to its lowest setting. Could it be defective? Is there a way to set the sensitivity setting to "off"

Asked by: Dan29
I have the same issue but attributed the running fan as responding to high outside air humidity.  I have this in my lakeside cabin which does not have any air conditioning, on on the high humidity days the fam does turn on and run. Turning it off is only a stopgap measure. I’ll be removing my switch with on without the humidity detection system

What is the range the sensitivity can be set at? Im looking to keep my bathroom below 55% to prevent black mold and high enough for my tropical plants to survive

Asked by: Chris0521
The setting for what you are looking for is 12 noon, so arrow pointing straight up. The Humidity controller uses temperature and humidity to control condensation that is why it s a good controller of mold problems.
