Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'll wait and see I have been buying Dickies work clothes for years ... mainly for the value they provide. I do however have one complaint. The pants shrink ... big time!! I have resorted to buying a size and length larger to compensate. The last pair that I purchased (from Walmart) never went near a dryer, were hung by the legs to dry, and still became too short in about 2 months. I don't believe that the 874 pants that I purchased on-line are the same product, so I will have to reserve judgement until after a few washings. So far so good, but the pockets are not long enough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lacks features Pants, especially work pants, should be made so they can be worn with suspenders or a belt, i.e. they should come equipped with suspender buttons and a belt-line closure that has a finished look without a belt. All told, about 50 cents worth. Also, there seems to be a misconception in the clothing industry that stout people with larger chest and waist measurements have long arms and legs. It's just not true. There's a big market out here for a large jacket with a 32 inch sleeve and pants with a 44 inch waist with 26 or 28 inch inseams. But then it's getting harder and harder to get what one needs, even if you go right to the manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants Great pants! Very tough and durable. They looks like dress pants but perform like work pants. I have a job which takes me between office (business casual) and heavy manufacturing in the same day and these pants really do the job. The fit is perfect, not too baggy (like other dickies work pants) and allow you to bend and crouch. They stand up to dirt and stains and wash perfectly clean. For the amount you'd pay for other dressy looking pants these have a way better value. The only issue is I'm a bigger dude and while a 38 usually fits for me, I have to fight sometimes to get the hook done up (looks bad in a public bathroom!) - but to that note, even with the force of a thousand tons pressing against that hook, never any rips\tares or bends. BUY THESE! But if you are a regular 38, maybe get a 40.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing Incorrect. Love 874s & have been buying them forever, but trust the reviews about inconsistent sizing. Usually, in Dickies work pants & shorts you need to go 1 size up. I ordered the silver colour 874s this time instead of the usual size 38x32, I was disappoInted when the order arrived because they fit like a size 34x30, they were floods that couldn’t close at the waist. How could that be? I haven’t gained weight (I checked). Ended up buying a second pair 2 sizes larger than my usual 36 in other brands, size 38 in Dickies now needed to size up to a 40x32. They fit like their usual 38x32 should’ve. Satisfied with finally getting the pants I needed but tired of the inconsistency & the brand not fixing it. The first pair needs to be returned but their instructions aren’t clear enough. When the Canadian site finally got the wider range of colours back in stock (website only) it’s as if we got the duds that didn’t work in the U.S. The measuring with this brand really needs to be helped. Hope this helps someone out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beware of sizing or don't believe what you see It is too sad that there is a big difference in measurement in the official sizing chart and a real sizing of the human body waist. I don't understand who was that man who created this complicated system far off the wisdom. The reality shows - my waist measured by tape equals 38". But If I buy pants in this size they will be too big for me. WHY THIS STUPIDITY HAPPENS IN AMERICA? I have to buy 34" pants or jeans to be fitted well. So, the difference is 4" - and this is unbelievable! As a former scientist and a local carpenter, I demand the international standards to be used everywhere! Or it works like that - Your salary as promised 30 $ per hour, but you get only 25, because there is a difference between what is said and what is paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit. My Dad had a few pairs of Dickies Original Work Pants that he loved and wore exclusively when he is home in the workshop. He finally wore them out after many years of wear. We could no longer find them at the store he used to buy them from, and nothing else fit as well and as comfortably. I finally went on Dickies site and ordered him three pairs of pants. He's very happy, and will continue to use them as his go-to wardrobe. I will be purchasing some shirts for him as well. Great product!
