The assembly instructions could be a lot better, but it's not all that hard to put together. I had a defective cable end, and requested a replacement cable from the manufacturer. It took a couple weeks to sort out and receive from them, but they did send me one. I haven't had an opportunity to put up the antenna yet, but so far it seems like a quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent antenna for local channels We were getting poor reception on some of our local channels, so I decided to get an outside antenna. I got a pole, a splitter, and some coax cable, and ran cable to each of our two TVs. I grounded the pole. Now it remained only to get the antenna, mount it on the pole, and align it. I compared many antennas and found that this antenna (ANT7288) would be good, because it had two panels which could be pointed in two different directions. Also, it had good reviews by other people who had used it. I went to tvfool.com and got a map of my local channels, so that I would know where to point the antenna. I pointed one pane in that direction, and I pointed the other pane east-west, to try to get some out-of-town channels as well. To sum up, although I don't get any out-of-town channels, I get excellent, strong reception on all of the local channels, which was my main reason for buying an external antenna. Prior to buying this antenna, I had bought the Digiwave ANT7287. However, I returned it to my local Home Depot, because I couldn't point the two panes in different directions. (You can with the ANT7288.) They refunded my money on the ANT7287 with no problem. I am pleased with this antenna.

Can this be used if my house is surrounded by tall trees? At what height does it need to be installed? Does it need to be higher than the tallest trees? How well does it work with a haevy rain fall or heavy snow fall?

Asked by: Howard
Can this be used if my house is surrounded by tall trees? Yes At what height does it need to be installed? 3 feet higher above the rooftop. Does it need to be higher than the tallest trees? If possible, but not necessary based on how close the trees are in reference to blocking the antenna. Further away is much better. How well does it work with a heavy rain fall or heavy snow fall? Antenna should be secured tightly onto a pole mount that can prevent it swaying from bad weather. Most antennas will have some type of interference in a heavy rain fall or snowfall depending on how bad the storm is.

Is it ok for outdoor installation?

Asked by: dagger
No anger after three months? Did I just waste my time posting a question? Anyway, mr. Dagger. They talk about wind loading in the description so 100% it is can be mounted outside. I would think that mounting inside, even in your attic would affect reception.
