These work very well,we used the 60" 2500's in a new construction application. The wiring diagram is a terrible, not code diagram that should not be used. The problem is old code you just used 2 wire, a white neutral and black, made the white neutral you're 2nd hot at service panel and on you went.TODAY we run 3 wire, cut and toss the white neutral, and use the red and black both hot's and ground. So the red I connect to the black and blue, and the black to black, and hook the ground.I used 10 wire and ran a series of 3 and a series of 4 into swith boxes at the bottom of the floor,a blank cover we drilled a hole into for a jumper wire to each unit, clean and neat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, albeit finicky I was looking for a baseboard systems that didn't require me cutting holes in my walls to connect programmable thermostats. I took a chance with this system, as the reviews for this product and thermostat were generally very poor - I assumed and hoped it was mostly user error. I have been using the system for a few months now and will say it was a pain to set up and the instructions aren't accurate. However once set up they do work well. I did notice that sometimes after a power outage the LED screens are blank. To solve this I open the access door below the LED screen and unplug/replug the LED connector. For me, the pain of setup and LED reset is less than dealing with wall repairs. The instructions could use an overhaul.

We were looking for a space saving baseboard heater for our new addition. This product fit the bill. It is compact, easy to install. Currently it is only a temporary install, to provide heat for the construction crew. It seems to operate as advertised and heated the space very quickly.

Can we connect a plug to the wiring so we can just plug it in rather than hard wire it

    Asked by: Jagg
Jagg, This heater is designed to be directly connected to a breaker in your circuit panel and can not be plugged into the wall.

Can this unit be wired at either end? Thank you.

    Asked by: Jeremy
Hey Jeremy, Sorry for the delayed response. The baseboard needs to be connected to power at the right side. If you need to install it where power comes into the left side of the unit, you can use the left end of the heater as a junction box and run a second set of wire to the right side underneath the heater.

What gauge wire and breaker size do you need to run the 2500 Watt heater in Manitoba?

    Asked by: jklk
For a 2500W heater at 240VAC, you can use a 14AWG wire with a double pole 15A breaker. Depending on the distance form the breaker panel to the heater, you might consider running a 12AWG.

I know the 2500 watt have a built in thermostat but I have existing wall mounted thermostat. Will the wall thermostat still control the heater?

    Asked by: spacs
Good Morning Our PC models with the digital display cannot but used with a wall mounted thermostat. If you are looking to purchase a Dimplex Baseboard heater that is compatible with a wall mounted controlled thermostat you would need to purchase our regular LC Series Baseboards. They have no thermostat built in them. Dimplex Customer Service

Good Morning,  I want to use this product to heat up my garage. Is the 60in baseboard big enough to heat up a space this size 250inL X 232inW X 109in H? Does the front of the baseboard heater need to be clear of obstructions to work efficiently?

    Asked by: pgagne
The general rule for electric heat is to use 10 watts of heat per square foot of space i.e. 1000 watt heater will heat 100 square feet (10’ x 10’) in a standard insulated room. To get an accurate measurement we recommend using our heat loss calculator. Placement of the Linear Proportional Convector Linear Proportional Convectors are high performance heaters designed to operate at higher outlet temperatures than conventional baseboard heaters. They can be directly mounted onto drywall, plaster, wood or concrete walls. Due to the higher outlet temperature, the wall surface can reach temperatures of 160º F (71º C) or above and some materials may discolor or deform at these temperatures, e.g. vinyl or plastic. In these cases the heater can be mounted with an offset from the wall and floor to reduce the temperature being applied to those materials. By installing the heater 5/8” (1.6 cm) off the wall and 1/4” (0.6 cm) off of the floor, the temperature of the wall above the heater can be reduced to 129º F (54º C). ! NOTE: If the unit is being installed on a newly constructed wall, ensure that all products that have been applied are fully cured according to manufacturer’s instructions, before operating the unit. Thank you
