Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hookup to the electrical source was only on one end... Hookup to the electrical source was only on one end of the unit. This limits where you can simply install without rewiring the source. Otherwise operationally it works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is the second Dimplex I got that does not... This is the second Dimplex I got that does not work. The first purchase would not heat up at all. So I returned for a replacement. The electrician tested before installing and after installing set the temperature and it seemed fine. But within a few days the screen went blank. I had to have the electrician back again. There was power to the unit but for some reason the mother board decided to quit working. I am taking it back to home depot to get my money back and will not buy another one of these again! I would not recommend buying a Dimplex.

Does this heater suffer from the problem of excessive heat damaging walls like the cheaper 500W Dimplex model that doesn't have the built in thermostat?

    Asked by: bryce
Good Morning, There are spacers that are available to install. Please contact us 1 888 346 7539 M-F 8-4:30 pm est so we may get them out to you. Thank you

Since you can't turn it off, what is the lowest that you can set the thermostat?

    Asked by: bryce
The instructions indicate you can set the temperature from 32 deg. F - 86 Deg. F. (0-30 Deg. C). I purchased 4 units of this item and only 2 work. Don't know if it's a manufacturing problem or if they were damaged in transport, but it doesn't give a good feeling about their long-term viablility.

Can I just simply remove my old baseboard heater and replace by this one? It's a 40(50?)-year-old house and I don't know anything about the old heaters(Voltage, Wattage, etc...).

    Asked by: xc87494789
Sorry for the delayed response. We suggest that you match the wattage and voltage of your old baseboard heaters to avoid issues with your breakers tripping. Generally this information can be found on rating labels on the old products. If you cannot find that, please reach out to us directly so we can help you find the right replacement. 1-888-346-7539

Is there a chart that will tell me the recommended unit and Wattage based on square feet?

    Asked by: kirp58
Good Morning,The general rule for electric heat is to use 10 watts of heat per square foot of space i.e. 1000 watt heater will heat 100 square feet (10’ x 10’) in a standard insulated room. To get an accurate measurement we recommend using our heat loss calculator.Thank you

Which heater is going to give more bang for the buck.

With obvious intial purchase cost differences aside. Which heater is going to save me more money in the long run to heat my home. I'm having difficulty deciding between the Linear Convector and the Linear Proportional Convector. Please help me!
    Asked by: Anonymous
Good morning, There is no difference in the performance of the heaters. The LPC heater sells complete with an onboard built in electronic thermostat and the LC has no thermostat so that is an option for you to purchase. Thank you, Consumer Support
