The one I ordered recently, which prompted this request for a review, is to replace one of 2 that I bought 2 years ago. That one burned out and stopped my entire baseboard unit from working after one winter...I didn't bother to get it replaced since it was a secondary heat source, but I just swapped out a couple of kitchen light fixtures and so needed to call my electrician out, figured I'd have him replace this thing at the same time. The other thermostat I bought (number 2 of 2) originally is still working, so I'm hoping this one was a fluke. The Dimplex units are expensive to stop working after one season. They're nice looking, but given that in my admittedly very small sample, 50% of them failed after less than 12 months of use, I would NOT recommend. I'm only replacing the thermostat because the unit is already there so I might as well give it a shot.

The sticker that came with it had #'s 1-7 but the knob has 0-9 so I could never tell when it is off or high. VERY FRUSTRATING, especially when I did my homework for th project. Customer service frm the mfr. was little help to me as well. NO MORE DIMPLEX for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed easily The last owner installed 5 baseboard heaters in the cottage and ran all 5 through one thermostat. Soon after we bought it we had a small "thermal incident", go figure. Since there was no way to easily put thermostats inline we went with these. Not perfect (mostly access due to where the wiring and the heaters are located) but they do the job. Each one took about 20 minutes to remove, disassemble, install the thermostat, reassemble and reinstall. 5 took several hours, just tedious, not hard. Instructions are clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install thermostat for Dimplex baseboard heater. Dimplex baseboard heaters do not come with a thermostat, so you have to buy one of these or a separate in-wall thermostat. These can be wired 120V or 240V. The instructions were easy to follow and the installation went smoothly.

does anybody have the same problem I have

My wall are all black on top of my electric heather ? why is that ? I do not find those heather very good.We bought a house a few months ago and they were already install in the house, I think we are gona have to change the entire system, I don't recomand those heather to anyone, if anybody hae the same problem with those heather please let us know
    Asked by: Anonymous
One reason for the walls being black on top of the heater is that over time if there is dust (from renos) pet dander, and even smoke can heat up, lift and stick to the wall so over time it turns black. A regular cleaning of the unit should help with this issue. Source Dimplex Representative

how do you operate a double pole thermostat

    Asked by: Anonymous
A double pole thermostat operates the same as a single pole thermostat. The knob control stays the same the thing that is different is inside as it will do a complete shut off. I hope this helps.
