How long is the electric plug from the back of this unit to an appropriate outlet, or does the electrical wire from my panel need to route directly into the unit (hard-wire)?

Is this heater used for garage as well. Also, Is this heater quiet ??? How fast will the garage heat up??

Hi Sheila, This is a quiet heater as there is no fan. This heater takes 6 seconds maximum heat up time. How fast will depending on how large the room is you are trying to heat. This will cover an area of 215-3/8ft2 (20m2)

What is the lowest outdoor temperature at which this would be functional / effective?  (Canadian winter.)

Good Day, The 3000W/240 would give you considerable heat. These units are used in outdoor restaurant settings (multiple units installed) but likely comes December and the cold weather, indoor would become the most comfortable and realistic alternative. Does this unit have an automatic shut off for safety?

Good Day, There is a built in safety feature that will automatically trigger the heater to go into standby mode after eight hours of continuous operation.
