Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful Writer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These markers are very useful for a lot of things: marking all sorts of different materials from gym clothes to kids' clothes to moving boxes. I have a slight obsession with the string and peeling of the end so you can keep writing. Whatever you write on with it you can actually clean it off so it is not permanent and that is what I like, not all things need a permanent marker. I've also found they come in very useful for marking leftovers. You know, the ones you can't remember wth they are and you don't want to write on your Rubbermaid with markers. These are PERFECT and wash right off!

They write boldly, peel nicely, and have a variety of uses. I like to use these for my gardening projects. I write the name of seedlings on the bottom of my Terra Cotta planters and the name last in all kinds of weather conditions outside. I've also used them in my photography projects to mark the names of people on my pictures on the back of the photo prints. The best thing about these are that they are durable and long lasting in all types of conditions and can be used to write on so many different surfaces. Very happy with these!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not transfer well on my mirror. Tears off ok. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small hand drawn art on my mirror as a decor and I keep changing the art every so often. I generally use a liquid chalk based marker or a dry erase marker and have gotten great results with both. However when I tried this marker, it didn't transfer well to the glass and I had to go over one area multiple times to get the lines I wanted. The tear off sharpening worked well though and a fresh tip was easily achievable with the string tear system without the need of any additional tools. Good for convenience and jobs not requiring saturated colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this a couple weeks ago and it has been more useful than I even thought it would be initially! I love how easy it writes on glass and metal making crafting and measurements so simple. It never needs sharpening as you just peel off layer by layer of the paper as it is used. It comes off easily with mild soap and water too! These will surely last a very long time as a little goes a long way on so many surfaces! I definitely recommend this to crafters, craftsmen, construction workers and anyone in need of marking smooth surfaces without it being permanent!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to be great, now? Meh... These metal barrel permanent markers used to be great. They have recently changed manufacturing to China, and the new batches are HORRIBLE! Dry out quickly, nib seems too soft and deforms quickly. I have an older marker that has been on my desk for YEARS that was Made in Mexico, and it's still like new. We buy hundreds of these per year for construction use, but now feel like we will need to find something else. I really don't see how contractors will continue to use this inferior product.

My husband and I just started remodeling our home and these markers have been so convenient. It's so nice to be able to use the same instrument to mark a variety of surfaces including wood, metal & glass. And unlike a pencil mark which you can barely see, these make bold & clearly visible marks that even stand up to time & moisture. And they're actually very easy to remove if needed with just a damp cloth. But I think the best part is that these Never need to be sharpened! You just pull the string on the top and the paper easily peels down to give you more marker! I plan on using these for so many things including home improvements, DIY's and crafting. Highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew up preferring Ticonderoga to other brands because for as long as I can remember they have made high quality products, that are long lasting, and made with ease and comfort in mind. These black China markets are no exception, I can write on any surface clearly & legibly with little effort, it’s like using any of their other products on paper; The feeling of writing with this is satisfying. Another awesome product that does what it’s supposed to do from Ticonderoga, while I’m certainly impressed I’m not surprised in the least.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well on Concrete Acrylic Decks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In our professions, we use china markers to make markings on concrete acrylic decks. The China Markers work well for us and are a great alternative to using a permanent marker because the markings can be removed with some scrubbing as apposed to permanent markers which can't be removed. The only issue I have with the china marker is that if you press too hard, the marker breaks, somewhat like a pencil does. This is true for any brand of the china marker so I can't take any stars off for that. The reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 is that when the china marker is about 2/3 of the way used, it gets harder to peel the paper off. Still a great product and we will continue to use.
