DMX 1-Step 2.0 is designed specifically for Use In Basements and/or Areas Where Moisture is a Problem No moisture means No mold growth under your finished floors! DMX 1-Step 2.0 is VOC free, which means that it does not off gas harmful fumes into your living space. There is no need for OSB or Plywood. Laminate, engineered hardwood and vinyl plank flooring can be installed directly on top of DMX 1-Step 2.0

Rated 5 out of 5 by from no more cold and easy to install This product I absolutely amazing! I renovated my mothers basement and she wanted her floor to be warmer since what she currently had didn`t do the job. I also didn’t want to spend a whole weekend installing an underlayment or cutting through plywood. Speaking with a Home Depot associate, he recommended DMX 1Step 2.0 since I was installing vinyl. I wouldn`t consider my self a DIY expert but man! This product was so easy to install! I didn`t need any specialized tools… Just a utility knife to cut through it. I did around 750 square feet with a friend and it took us around 2 1/2 hours to install it! Talk about quick! Once the vinyl flooring was installed, the flooring felt very secure and was pleasant to walk on. After a few days, my mother notice the difference and the floor was warmer o walk on. Now she goes down there more often. I definitely recommend this product because it does what it says!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more moisture and cold! Finally a product that works! I installed DMX 1-Step 2.0 with Lifeproof vinyl 6.5mm in my basement. I bought this underlayment because the HD associate recommended it, and he told me that the air gap will evaporate moisture coming though my slab. I have always had a lot of moisture coming through the slab since we bought the house, and I have tried everything from the basic poly underlayment, to the dricore 2 by 2 panels, but they never lasted! With 1-Step 2.0, the install is now done, and I am so happy, because I immediately feel a difference in the warmth of the floors. Not to mention that is also quite pleasant to walk on. My kids typically wouldn't to play in the basement in the past because of the cold, but seeing them run around the basement without even wearing socks made the whole install worth it! I will update if anything changes, but based on how the product felt in my hands, and insight from the HD associate, I don't imagine that the underlayment will have issues down the line. Rated 3 out of 5 by from ok, as long as your floor has no issues, people buy this because its cheap and needs zero skill to install, however, here are two things i found out when using this, number one: this does not block the cold if you are putting it over concrete, no matter what the commercials tell you, nomatter what scott tells you, this will not block cold over concrete, number two: this is a hard plastic product , it has no give, so if you put a hard floor directly on top of this, like a hard laminate, your floor will make a lot of creaking noise when you walk on it, so i would strongly recommend that if you a re planning on putting this down on top of concrete and putting a hard laminate on top, spend the xtra money and put a felt underlay on top of this before you put down the laminate, it solved all my noise issues , dont lay the laminate direct on top of this if u want your floors to be quiet.

Installed with 7mm LVP, floor levelled by a professional.Floor clicks and sounds hollow when walked on!Such a disappointment $12,000 worth of LVP and it sounds like cheap crap! 1600 Sq ft.Perhaps in a small room it would be fine? But you would have to get the floor very, very level before install! Now I'm stuck with it, and kicking myself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DMX 1-Step 2.0 This underlay was very easy to work with. Easy to unroll. Easy to cut. Easy to tape joints together. The adhesive tapes that were included were quite good. You may not need much of the double sided tape used to tape underlay down but the remainder of the roll came in very handy for other uses. Used this in a basement room with laminate flooring on top. There are also some videos available about using the product.

I need to build up the thickness of the flooring, in order to more closely match an adjoining floor in the (cement) basement. I am using a 1/2" thick engineered click/lock plank. Is there any issue laying sheets of osb on top of this product?

Even tough not required, there is no problem laying osb or plywood on top of DMX, just make sure you seal the DMX with the tape provided.

Can you lay an underlayment on top of the DMX and then the vinyl plank flooring. The only reason i ask is so that when it meets up with the flooring in the next room they are at the same height.

Hello: Click vinyl plank flooring with a minimum thickness of 5mm can be installed directly on top of DMX 1-Step 2.0, incl. the attached padding. It is not recommended to add additional padding on top of our product when installing vinyl planks or laminate with DMX 1-Step 2.0. Customer Care DMX

Hello Sarah, It is not recommended to install additional underlayment or padding on top of our product, before installing the finished flooring. DMX 1-Step 2.0 has been specifically designed to be used directly underneath finished floating floors, such as click vinyl plank flooring (5mm thick or greater), laminate and engineered hardwood. Adding an additional underlayment or padding could cause unwanted vertical deflection, especially in high traffic areas. Customer Care DMX

I have untreated rough concrete in my basement - looking to install carpet over. Would you recommend a dimpled polyethylene such as this overtop, and then plywood, or seal the concrete first? I think there is some moisture as the concrete is porous...

Hello Mike: No additional vapour barrier are required with DMX 1-Step 2.0. DMX 1-Step 2.0 is a 4-in-1 underlayment, vapour barrier, moisture barrier, thermal barrier and sound barrier. Our underlayment has been designed to allow vapour, that comes in through your concrete slab, to evaporate safely. Vapour/moisture is safely channeled away through our air gap design.
