Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great space saver with a high end look!! We use almost exclusively 3/8 frameless glass enclosures, but on my most recent job we found that space was and issue. We searched for a glass door that would work like a bifold door but not look like it belonged only in a mobile home. When I received this door from Home Depot I was so pleased at the look and quality of the components. It is a beautiful door and a must see for those looking for a custom look but the need of conserving space!

I have bought and installed this one as well as the paragon bi fold shower from Coastal Shower. This one (dreamline) was cheaper, better quality, better assembly and installation instructions and looks much better. The coastal shower one has many more parts some pre assembled, others you have to assemble and drill. So, there are that many more ways for it to fail. You really have to spend time to figure out what exactly you need to do and a lot of measurements, positions and locations are left up to the installer. So, there is also much more room for error. In contrast, with dreamline, you can't really go wrong. I installed both of them yesterday, so I wanted to write up my honest opinion before I forget.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome company and product This shower is beautiful and easy to install. We have been pleased with the ease of use. However, we had a issue with a broken part- instead of ignoring the issue, Dana with Customer Service reached out and corrected the problem-without hesitation. What outstanding service!! It is so rare that a company stands behind their product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this door! I purchased this door for the bathroom off my master bedroom. My house was built in 1970, so the floor space in this room only measures 4' x 5'. The old shower door would always hit the toilet when being opened. I initially wanted to get the Dreamline Unidoor, but my contractor recommended against it because he didn't think there would be enough room on the 2" wide tiled left side to attach the plates for the hinges (my shower base is 36 x 36, but is set in between the studs in such a way that the door opening width is 31"). When I saw this Butterfly model, I thought it would be a great solution: no more door bumping into the toilet because of the way it folds into the shower while still providing the open, clear glass look I wanted. I ordered it online and picked it up at the store myself. It was still crated on a wooden pallet when I arrived, which was reassuring that it had been carefully handled during shipping. The dual panels made for a compact package that fit perfectly into my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had it installed by a professional who had years of experience installing shower doors. He was able to do it by himself, but said it took him twice as long as regular doors. This may have been due to overconfidence: i.e not reading the instructions and looking at the diagrams beforehand. I read them and found them very complete and straightforward. I initially paid $518 for the door in August & when I came on line to do the review saw that it was on sale for $414.40 in September. I went back to the store and with no hassle they credited me the price difference. I've been using the door for about 3 weeks now and just love it. It seals tightly and looks great. I had gotten estimates from frameless shower door installation companies which ranged from $1200 to $2700 (!) so I think this was a phenomenal value. After showering, I leave the door in the open (folded-in) position so air can circulate and find this has prevented mildew from forming in the shower which had been a problem in the past with the old door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BI Fold door The size of it is 30 - 32 opening. We have a 30 inch opening and it doesn't fit. The smallest the door Size it gets is 30 and 1/16. Not much difference but it will not fit in as is. We called the technical number and they asked we send a photo, which we did with the tape measure on it. We also had a contractor here when we were trying to install it and he concurred. The only thing we can do is buy a special blade for our table saw and make the frame work smaller. The blade is an extra 85 dollars! So no, we are not satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some minor quibbles, overall pretty good For a tiny bathroom and shower stall, does the job well. Doesn't need lots of space inside (and none outside), easy to get in & out, contains the water acceptably. A few minor points / tips for future installers: The 30" minimum width should really read 30 1/8, or 30 1/4 to be safe: the 30" doesn't include the thickness of the back of the wall profiles. I needed to do a little bandsaw work to squeeze into my exactly 30" space. At the top and bottom, the door does not actually seal to the track. Not a problem in practice - the top/bottom track extend a good 2" over the glass. But that does mean the top and bottom tracks are 2" taller than they could have been. (Also, there's a strange seal strip inside that extra that doesn't touch anything. Maybe it's for use in other models?) The claimed predrilled holes in the wall profiles for securing to the glass profile were missing. I guessed some locations and drilled my own. Seemed to work. The holes for securing the wall profile to the wall aren't accessible straight-on, once the profiles are attached to the door (which they must be before securing these screws.) They have to be driven at an angle. Doing it again, I would drill the anchor holes at a slight backward angle so I could drive the screws straight-on, or else discard the philips screws and use hex socket heads with an angle driver. $500 seems high. Good quality, but not the greatest value. Still, a big improvement over my narsty plastic curtain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Butterfly! The new shower stall in our remodeled first floor bathroom is just inside and to the left of the bathroom entrance door. A standard out-swinging shower door and the room’s entrance door could block each other, possibly trapping someone in the shower; so that option was out. We tried using a shower curtain, but it was awful. Water leaked, etc. After seeing your DreamLine bi-fold shower door advertised at our local home store, I realized it looked like the solution to our need. Having read that the installation of your door could be challenging, we hired a remodeling professional to do the job. Although it was the first time this pro had ever seen a bi-folding shower door, he and his helper got the job done successfully. Now we have a classy looking, great functioning door for our shower. Thank you for making this great product. It’s perfect for tight spaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably perfect! We have phone-booth sized shower in our older home and my contractor & local box store said there was no door available for it's small size and I proved him wrong by finding this perfect door online. The installer was impressed at its ease of installation and the quality. We love the door and how it opens. Takes no floor space in our small bathroom!!! Worth every penny!

The design of our shower would have the head directly in front of this shower door. Bi-fold makes sense because were are limited in space but I am concerned about the water seeping through the fold in the middle - even when fully closed. Can it withstand a direct shower stream on a regular basis for an extended period of time?
Asked by: RM
I can't say. Mine does not have to take that kind of sustained water hit. For what it's worth, mine does not leak with the shower head to the side.

Is it possible to install this door into 32 inch wall to wall opening? I see that each side has about 3/4 inch adjustment for out of plumb walls; however, brochure says that maximum width is 30in to 31 1/2 in. It is somewhat confusing the way it is explained. Thanks, RD
Asked by: RD
My shower is 33.5 " I plan to put 1" composite board on each side to fill void. If you have 32", you will need only one 1" wide board on one side. Caulk and drill through the board . May need longer screws to fasten.
