what are the measurements of the drain location from the perimeter of the pan ?

The drain location is 12" by 18" off of the right corner. You will come down the side wall 18" and out in to the field of the base 12". Hope this helps. Would this product (48" wide) work as an installation in a single-threshold position? I have right-hand drain in concrete and cannot purchase a single-threshold unit with a center drain.

For this reason, you may experience leaking so we cannot recommend purchasing this base for a single threshold application. I bought the double threshold version, however I will be having an alcove shower. will it be an issue?

You cannot use a double threshold shower base for an alcove installation as doing so will likely result in very serious water damage to your home. You will also completely and immediately void the warranty on the shower base. For alcove installation, you need a single threshold shower base that will have tiling flanges on 3 sides of the base. A double threshold shower base only has tiling flanges on 2 sides of the base so if you attempted to install this into an alcove, one of your walls will not have a tiling flange and water will definitely leak behind your walls and shower base. We strongly recommend that you return the double threshold shower base and get the right base for your alcove application (a single threshold shower base). I am writing about your Slimline 34-inch x 48-inch Double Threshold Shower Base in Biscuit. I want to know what the bottom looks like. Your images and specs do not show how it is built up underneath. BTW, 255 characters is not nearly enough.

Unfortunately, the Home Depot Canada web site does not have the same amount of photos that the Home Depot US site has. You may also want to look at Dreamline.com before making your purchase. Drawing showing exact location of drain hole?  What does double / single threshold mean?  Thanks

A double threshold shower base is one that is needed for a 2-wall installation and accepts a 2-wall glass shower enclosure. A single threshold shower base is meant for an alcove situation and is most commonly used when replacing a bathtub. The center of the drain location is 17" by 12" off of the right corner of the base.
