Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to work with these are an expensive item when you do the math i needed `50 to do 3/4 of my basement and that works out to just over a grand after taxes. but theya re easy to install and the works goes pretty fast. one sore point was that the store had re-shelved some returned tiles that were damaged. several had chipped and crushed tongue & grooves. i managed to use them on the edges so all worked out, but poor service in my opinion

Hi, How many panels do I need for a room that's 11"x13"? Thank you and happy holidays! Ben

Asked by: Benoit
An 11' x 13' room is 143 square feet. 143/3.3 = 43.33. So 44 panels. Our calculator a 10% overage anticipation of cuts and error.

So what is the thickness of this thing, i have seen different comments about manufacturer lying about the thickness, is it 1" 3/4 5/8?

Asked by: Davebbbbb
Several months ago, AGT changed from a 19/32 board to a 15/32 board on DRICORE Subfloor Panels. So while panels were 7/8", as of about 5 months ago, the new thickness is 3/4".

Can I build walls on top of the dricore subfloor system? How would that work if it's a floating subfloor if I build my walls on top?

Asked by: axzg31
While DRICORE panels have the option to float, some applications require the panels to be anchored. Installing the walls on top of DRICORE is the preferred method, however the choice is yours. You could build your walls and then install your DRICORE with ¼” gap from your finished wall. Or, you could install your DRICORE leaving 1” gap to the foundation wall, and build your stud wall on top. Making Interior walls • Install your 2X4 frame directly on top of the subfloor, measuring for a "snug" fit between the subfloor and ceiling. • Once the frame is in position, simply screw the bottom plates of the 2X4 frame to the DRICORE panels, using 2" wood screws. To finish the anchoring process, we suggest fastening the bottom plate to the concrete floor using either 3" concrete nails or concrete fasteners. • Only minimal fastening to the concrete is required. For example, for every 8' length of base plate, install only two concrete anchors. Note: If you are planning to use metal studs in place of wood, the base track for the studs should be affixed to the DRICORE panels with 5/8" wood screws as a maximum. Metal stud base plates should be anchored in concrete every 2' when installing over DRICORE panels.

Merci

Asked by: mario

I have an older home with no cement floor in the basement just ground. instead of pouring a cement floor to accommodate the panels, will they also work on just bare ground?

Asked by: DonR
Hello Don, Please do not install the subfloor panels over the ground. The panels are designed and tested for applications over concrete only. The ground may be too humid for the panels, and the cleats could sink into the soil causing the seams to be in direct contact with any moisture. This could lead to the OSB becoming wet, which could cause the panels to swell and buckle.

Installing a floor over a newly poured concrete floor, after it has cured. If we use this product can we install LVT directly over it? Or do we also need an additional plywood subfloor? Headroom is at a premium.

Asked by: Celia
Yes you can install LVT right over it.  Very good product for this application

Installing over bare concrete which has a very thin dispersion of old carpet glue residue, do the Dricor panels cover slight blemishes in the concrete below or should we re-finish with self leveler? Is it okay to install loose-lay LVT over the panels?

Asked by: Colton
Good afternoon, We recommend removing as much of the adhesive as possible to minimize obstructions beneath your subfloor that may trap moisture. Here are our standard instructions for Vinyl: Sheet Vinyl, LVT/LVP and Vinyl Tiles - A 1/4" plywood underlayment approved for use with vinyl or adhesive-backed vinyl tiles should be fastened to the DRIcore panels. We do not recommend lauan plywood as an underlayment. Use 3/4" flooring fasteners that do not penetrate the moisture barrier on the underside of the DRIcore panels. Do not glue the plywood underlayment to DRIcore panels. Do not glue any flooring products directly to DRIcore panels, as the bond will not hold. Glue the vinyl floor to the plywood underlayment according to the vinyl manufacturer's installation instructions. Only remove the 1/4" wall spacers after the vinyl floor has been installed. Since your application is not a glue down, the plywood may not be necessary. However, if your vinyl has a click mechanism, you may still need the plywood underlayment. The many seams of the 2x2 subfloor may affect the success of the click. Also if the vinyl is thin, the seams could transfer through over time. Typically, provided your vinyl is thicker than 4mm and one is recommended, you may be able to install an underpad ie: floor Muffler and then your vinyl. It is important to read the manufacturer instructions before installing an underpad, as this may void your warranty. On another note, the instructions of your LVT may recommend the use of an embossing leveler on the seams of your subfloor. Please Note: The plywood is not a subfloor, it is an underlayment.
