Rated 4 out of 5 by from Starts easy but eventually melted the end cap Loved this heater overall. Started easily when running diesel fuel in it and it has a strong fan. It doesn't blow a big cloud of smoke when starting like some of my other units did. Only had one item I wish was different - the thermostat is EXACT on the temp. If the room changes by one degree it is coming on again. I would rather it have a window of 2-5 degrees before coming on to save start/ stop cycles. After 7-10 tanks of fuel I noticed that the cap on the end of the flame chamber has distorted from the heat and is now not fully burning the fuel. I will be calling for service and hopefully they will stand behind their product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater, very reliable I've owned this same model of heater (back when it looked a little more space age) since 2009, and was a little curious why some people had given it bad reviews. I found it completely reliable. It always started up, the thermostat worked great, and it would run continuously with no problems up to the last drop of fuel. When working in construction, I would set it up in the low part of the house, and before long, the entire place would be warmed up. Perhaps the people giving it bad reviews are the same people up late on Christmas Eve trying to figure out how to put together a Walmart bike. If it has any cons, it is a little hard to get it up and down stairs when full of kerosene. The wheels are hard durable plastic, that would not be the best for wheeling across a nicely polished floor. Other than that, it's a great product.

Just set the thermostat and hit the power switch and it starts and stops by itself. The temp of the room shows on a digital readout. Nice. Was easy to assemble the handles and wheels and didn't take long. The wheels are solid, and don't feel cheap like other plastic wheels. Just used it for a few hours this first day, not sure how long trouble free operation will last, but i like this unit. 10 gallon tank for 10 hours continuous run. Nice fuel gage as well. Working in a 1200 sq foot house, heated it from 40 degrees to 70 in 5 or 10 min max, then shut itself off. Open a couple windows per manual, and you good and safe to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy The heater was double boxed, well padded and undamaged. Assembly was simple, and try as I usually do, I couldn’t find anything that ‘needed’ improvement. It’s been many years since I’ve used this type of heater. Using it, I was expecting a slight throat irritation. That never happened. The heater burns very clean. We’ve had it for three cold months and are very satisfied.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed to ignite after 4 uses (just 25 hours of use) This heater looks like it is well made and it worked excellent when it was working. I used this heater once in December, and three times in January, so it failed within two months of use and within 25 hours of use. The first two uses the high pressure switch worked. It has not worked since, but at lease it operated on the low pressure setting during the last two uses. Then, it failed to ignite the fifth time I went to use it and it just blowed fuel all over my garage floor until it auto shut off kicked in. After reading the owner's manual troubleshooting section, it could be a blown fuse, incorrect pressure setting, dirty nozzle, sensor, filter, etc., etc. For such minimal use, I should not have to troubleshoot and make all these checks and repairs.

No. 1 diesel fuel can be used if kerosene is not available, but make sure there is extra added ventilation when using diesel fuel. The instruction manual is located beside the Product Overview on the home depot product page.

does this heater also burn diesel

Asked by: boyd
Yes. The manual says so. I haven't tried it in mine, but I've burned it in past hearers. As the manual mentions, diesel fuel doesn't burn as clean. It does burn much cleaner than a diesel engine does.

Hello Me, We would recommend cleaning your filters and nozzle. Also check your spark plug gap. As this unit heats and cools your spark plugs may not return to the original gapping size.-GHP Group Customer Service Team
