This adapter converts regular medium screw-base socket to energy saving GU24 socket. A twist-and-lock mechanism simplifies the changing of bulbs. GU24 bulbs are slightly smaller than CFL bulbs allowing the fixture design to remain the same as a regular incandescent bulb.
