Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get a Stihl MS-291 instead - I will I bought the CS-590 last week. It wasn't cheap at $620. I set it up, added fluids, and set the saw to winter mode. It started up quickly. I cut test log and was impressed. I switched it off to adjust the chain, and that's the last time it started. I followed the manual to the letter. Repeatedly. My well maintained 35 year old Homelite Super XL 130 starts every time without fail, but I wanted something new in the same engine size. I chose this Echo over the Stihl MS-291 on specs and price. I should have given more weight to quality and the manufacturer's reputation. Returning the CS-590. Very, very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Saw This is a fantastic saw, lots of power, great price and fantastic warranty. Comes with full chisel chain that rips through logs fast, If you're not used to full chisel Hang ON ! May have to get a semi chisel for safer operation.

I was a little hesitant buying an echo saw as all my others are husky and stihl but after having this saw my next will be an echo for sure. Cut up 5 18” fir trees right out of the box and never skipped a beat, makes wood cutting enjoyable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid chainsaw. Decent saw with a fair bit of power. Bit heavy but works well. Was initially hard to start but learned choke only needed from dead cold, likewise the decompression button. Hope it lasts as long as my other Echo !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely difficult to start I have owned this saw for 6 weeks now and managed to start it only twice despite trying more often. First time it was just out of the box and ran it for a minute or two. This took about 5-10 minutes of pulling. The second time was to actually use it, and I never turned it off for fear that I could not get it restarted. This second time starting took about 30 minutes which involved a lot of pulling and resting and pulling...etc. I own an Echo leaf blower that has worked very well over the past few years, and based on that, decided to retire my Stihl and give Echo a try. I had high hopes but so far I have been frustrated and disappointed. I purchased this item brand new from Home Depot expecting to get years of decent performance out of it. Instead I am told by Echo to go to an authorized dealer to have it checked out and maybe, maybe have a warranty claim. Brand new! Not starting! And the effort and focus is on me to run around trying to sort this out. It's not too difficult to imagine my opinion of Echo products now. I will be speaking to Home Depot about returning this to let someone else deal with it.
