Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful blower! I borrowed a neighbor's and had to have one. Sets up in 10 minutes. I have over an acre of oak trees and lots of ground cover. This blower beats my handheld gas blower and rake hands down. Cuts the work to about a 1/5 of the time. Digs out wet leaves and blows out ground cover. If you have a large yard with lots of trees, get this blower. It'll leave you wondering how you did without it. I have so much less anxiety about the Fall now. I liked the separate throttle set up - I didn't want to worry about wear and tear on the throttle cable. Seems to suck a lot of gas, but saves on time, arms, and back. Worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Echo PB 770T This is one heck of a blower, Powerful when you need it and regular adjustable power when you need that as well. You will not be sorry buying this blower. My old blower was an Echo PB 400 E I had for 28 years. Still running strong. Sold it for this new one and what a difference between the two. The PB 770T cuts my yard time in half. I am so glad I made this investiment. This is the only blower on the market with a 5 Year Warranty. I did some research and just stuck with the Echo. Big thing. Echo is American Made!! YAAAAAAAA. I am wondering if I can blow snow with it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lock your garage! This blower is amazing, and I promise you that the first time you fire this thing up you will understand where the other 5 star reviews come from. This is what a leaf blower SHOULD be like! So now I wonder what was wrong with me in the past for not taking the time to do comparative shopping, and also realize that time is money and this blower will quickly educate you of how much time is wasted with rakes and wimpy blowers. The only wasted time now is picking up the bicycles and lawn chairs this thing knocks over. I love it when the actual equipment makes me look forward to doing yard work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded all expectations. Decided to replace my 25 year old Echo blower: it takes 4-5 pulls to crank now and I recently used my brother's Echo which was noticeably stronger than mine. First noticed the shorter tube on new blower- I used the tube end to pry out imbedded pine cones in my lawn. Turns out I don't have to do that anymore. This thing blows sticks and pine cones off the lawn from 3 feet away Awesome. Cuts my time to a third with better results Researched on line. Not on shelf at retailers. Came home and ordered from HD on line. It was at my door the next day. Totally satisfied.

With a very large yard and a huge variety of leaves, this does the trick to get everything out of the flower beds and other hard to reach areas while able to cover a large area quickly. A little more expensive than the in-store model, but the added power was well worth it. After talking with lawn care professionals, they suggested the back pack over the wheel based blower because of the versatility...they were right...this back pack goes where you go and with the extra power! I don't know how echo compares to other brands....and I don't need to know, because this one does the job that any homeowner will ever need....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The hot rod of leaf blowers I bought this thing last fall for commercial use in my small lanscaping company. Great investment! My friend saw what it did and he was sold. He immediately went out and bought one too. This thing starts true on the 2nd or 3rd pull everytime. Cuts down the leaf removal time and is surprisingly lightweight for the amount of power if packs. Never thought hurricane force winds would come from a back pack blower. In my opinion don't waste the money on any other backpack blower because they're just the same as the little hand held ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice to have vents in the back pad I have used echo for 15+ years. I would recommend their products. I purchased the PB 770H. It is comparable to the 755. If you want the power, but need to save a few dollars, get the 755. The 770 is more powerful and has the vents in the back pad. I prefer the hip throttle. It is easier to control your air speed. Tube mounted wears out the throttle cable faster(2 yrs) , not to mention the incessant revving due to the trigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing blower I slowly walked my way up to this amazing blower. 3 years ago, I bought the most powerful electric Toro blower I could find. Gave up on that after a year. Then bought a 4 cycle basic backpack unit which I returned same day last year. This year, I upgraded all the way to the Echo 500H which was good, but not enough to bother with the expense. Finally decided to just go for it and bought the 770H and won't ever look back. Unit is fairly loud, but it took my heavily leafy yard from about 1-2 hour cleanup with a 500H down to about 30 minutes (with even more leaves). Incredible unit. Yes, it is a bit bigger and heavier than other units, but you don;t need to use it nearly as long, so for me it is a best buy for someone who just wants to get the job done with little fuss.

does this use a gas and oil mix - or just gas

Asked by: wedgewood
You have to use a gas/oil mix. Also when you use gas for this or any gasoline powered equipment now a days. You should use HiTest or Super Gasoline for better performance. My lawn mower repair shop recommended this strongly.

What are the differences between the Echo gas pack blowers, PB-770H and PB-770T ?

Asked by: Matt S.
Mostly the throttle location. The H has a separate throttle "Handle used with your left hand. (Easier & splits the work load right and left hands) The T has the throttle on the blower tube. (more fatigue for right hand)

Are the tube on this model removable incase you wanted to shorten it?

Asked by: rbollard21
The tubes for the PB-770H/T are removable. However, running a blower with missing pipes, especially the end pipe, reduces air flow restrictions. The reduced restrictions allows the fan to pump more air, increasing engine load and reducing engine rpm. The increased load increases engine heat. At the same time, the heavy load reduces rpm and reduces the fan speed to cool the engine. The increased heat can cause 2-Stroke oil to breakdown and bake onto the sides of the piston. Engine failure is even possible if the oil deposits stick piston rings.

Depending on the model it could be in a few different places. I found this document on the Echo website. https://www.echo-usa.com/tomwin41/Echo%20serial%20number%20location/PBbackpack.pdf

I love the power of this machine but I have a problem with the tubes separating while using it. Is there a trick to getting them to stay attached? I have tried twisting them into place but they only go so far...and fly off in use...
Asked by: nobrauch
I had the same issue with our unit. I did what you had done by making sure that the twist interlock was properly seated. You may have to massage it a bit to ensure locking. That solved our issue. If this continues to be an issue suggest contacting ECHO or HD customer service. They may then send you to an authorized ECHO service satiation. I too just love the power of this unit. With this unit I cleared out the leaves in about 45 min. for a 3/4 acre teed lot. When my back gave out after 5 years it took three to 5 workers to do the same job in a little over an hour! My 75 year old back will again be tested later this year. Good luck!
