There a 3 bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom on the main floor which is mine. my roommate above me installed vinyl flooring and Eco cork foam. I was absolutely Blown Away how much it deadened to footsteps and noise coming from upstairs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Can you use this with the peel and stick vinyl plank?

The spc vinyl we bought has an underlayment attached. It’s 5mm with the underlayment. Could we lay eco cork on top of concrete and then the vinyl on top? We are just worried about the joints. The vinyl we have is very flexible, not rigid.  Thanks!

Thank you for your question about Eco Cork Foam. We always recommend using the flooring manufacturers installation instructions regarding underlayment compatibility to ensure the warranty is not voided. That being said, the great news is that ECF is approved for use with flooring with an attached pad. Ensure the LVP is 5 mm or greater in thickness to ensure the integrity of the T and G connections. When using with engineered hardwood, should you glue the engineered hardwood over it?

No. It just clicks together and floats on-top. The wood needs room to expand. Very easy to put together.

Can this be used under engineered hardwood in a nail-down application, on the 2nd floor? Is the compression noticeable when walking? How squishy is it?

It is not meant to be nailed down. If you do, you might risk weakening the waterproof characteristic of the foam. The compression is not noticeable when walking. Neither is it squishy. The experts at Home Depot answered all our questions about the floor.

Can or should this product be used with vinyl plank to cover an existing ceramic tile floor with a wood subfloor?

Thank you for your interest in Eco Cork Foam. The great news is that ECF will work brilliantly with your LVP floor. ECF is approved for LVP that is 5mm or greater in thickness. We recommend 5mm because LVP can be quite flexible and pliable below this thickness. You can install ECF over our existing ceramic tile, just be sure to follow the installation instructions for a wood subfloor. When opened, the product has a strong industrial smell - hard to qualify it better. It did not go away even after 2-3 hours. Any chance the smell will disappear after one or two days? Installing in a basement and afraid the smell will stay.

Can this be used with vinyl planks 4mm thick and with no pad attached?

We recommend 5 mm or greater in thickness due to the flexibility and pliability of LVP flooring below this thickness. ECF has some cushion, which could affect the integrity of the tongue and groove connections on LVP/SPC less than 5 mm thick.
