Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eco Wood Treatment for a cedar deck. Very easy to work with and apply. We’ve had our white cedar deck for 4 years now, and I had power washed it once before. The mold was bad again, so along with washing, scrubbing my deck, I treated it with this product about 6 weeks ago. We love the colour, which came out a natural silver and it seems to be resisting any mildew growth, as I recall the last time, the growth returned quickly and here it has not

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ECO wood treatment Installed white cedar shingles, I followed the instructions for the mix and application, but ended up with a dark grey/green colour. Not weathered silver grey as expected. But fortunately the colour that came out matches the house better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Silvery / platinim grey ... Easy to mix. Easy to apply. Not certain we love the finish. It is somewhat of a silvery grey. Close to what aging wood turns to, but a more silvery ... or atinum as others call it in their reviews. Turns ok with the black accent we did (vertical surfaces of deck). We will have to see if it's 'life time' treatment ... in a few years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn’t work at all for me I followed the instructions and the wood I used it on still split. Seems this was a total waste of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product Easy to use and deck looks amazing. I added our own tint. It has rained several times and the colour has held. Can’t wait to see how long it lasts. If we only have to this once it’s super worth it. No problems from getting it on plants. Dropped onto our Japanese maple without hurting it.

I want to treat a new cedar planter box with an environmentally friendly protective stain because I will be planting vegetables. If I use this product on the inside of the box, will it protect the wood enough so that I don't have to line the box? Advice?

Asked by: Joan
I used this product on vegetable planter box. It is excellent. I would endorse this product.

how is this applied . can it be applied by a sprayer

Asked by: Ralph
Hello Ralph Most people paint or roll it on but a sprayer would work just fine ! It is very watery once mixed not sure if that would be a factor in the spraying process.

Hi, can you use this after washing the deck with baking soda and vinegar? And how long would you have to wait in between?

Asked by: aristotle59
We put it on new wood. I would probably wait until your wood dries after washing it. we really love this product.

Can you apply wood sealer on decking after applying the eco wood treatment?

Asked by: Grandit
Thank you for your query. Yes, but stains and sealers are not recommended. Tints are recommended if a particular color is desired. Simply add 5 ounces of any water based tint to 1 gallon of Eco Wood Treatment. Tint can be purchased at your local paint store

I am removing old paint from my deck and it’s not all coming off. I’ve pressure washed and sanded but still it remains. Can I still use this product with effect?

Asked by: Jenny
The Eco-Wood treatment needs to come in direct contact with the wood for it to be effective. If the paint remains it is suggested to use a paint stripper then a power wash prior to applying Eco-Wood

Will this be effective if it is applied over the treated wood available in home depot (the 'brown' stuff )?

Asked by: Terry
Yes Eco Wood will be effective on all pressure treated wood, as long as the wood can take on water. To test - place a few droplets of water on the wood and if it is absorbed Eco-Wood will work. In fact it will be doubling up your protection. A couple of quick tips A) Always do a small test area, B) Treat both sides of the wood prior to building.

I have pressure washed an old neglected deck. Some old stain remains on the railings. Can this product still be applied? If so will the areas with old stain and areas with no old stain be different colours?

Asked by: jwallc
If the pressure washing was done at 2ft distance or more it should be fine, but if it was done too close for the purpose of removing that stubborn stain, then it'll take about a year for the water to evaporate and internal moisture to go out completely. I see Question was asked 11 month ago, so in case you haven't done it you're good to this season anyhow.

What is this product made of? MSDS?

Asked by: Amanderveen
Eco-wood's main ingredient is a trade secret - it contains a combination of all natural herbs that make the wood immune to bacterial and fungus rot.The MSDS applies to one ingredient that makes up less than 50% of the product. The remaining ingredients are natural mineral and plant extracts having no known or reported hazards or precautions.
