I only had a 1 inch bit, but drilled some extra holes, mixed it up with a stick, and poured it in. Amazing results next day. Concrete base for basketball goal with good amount of rebar, was seriously broken. Highly recommended

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the product did not arrive in the plastic tub as pictured but in a thin plastic bag which had leaked resulting in loss of product.

The directions and information sheet needed more information. Lacking density of wet mix information; whether or not to fill to top of hole or stop short (Tech Dept recommended 1/2" short). The product after pouring needed more time (3 day max) to insure completion than instructions indicated. So be patient. My job was successful using 1 5/16" bit as that is the largest I have and not the 1 1/2" as directed.

In our project, we will need to use 4 trackhoes with hydraulic breakers to excavate the rock. Ecobust allows us to do the excavation with less skilled people. (Laborers mixing and pouring grout as compared to track how operators) Also saves equipment from working in harsh conditions. Also would allow more control of sizing the excavated rock to specific dimensions. Benefit for us to be able to do this to make top rap to be used on the project. With how rams, the rock will break to irregular shapes and sizes that may not meet project specification.

Would ecobust work on a giant Boulder 4'h by 4' L by 3'W, How deep would I drill and what diameter of bit?

Asked by: DJ
If you could drill the amount of holes @ the depth required, you probably could then or maybe even before the grueling job of drilling, break it up with a jackhammer! You’re going to have to use many big & expensive bits to drill these holes as well! I’m not buying the manufacturers story!

Is this quantity enough to break up a 4' X 6' concrete pad approximately 6"-8" thick?

Asked by: DAL
Assuming you use a drill pattern of 12" hole spacing, you would drill 3 holes across and 5 holes wide for total of 15 holes, and at 8" thick you would drill down 90% to 7". Total needed, would be 15 holes x 7 "=105" or 8.75 feet of hole. Each bag fills about 8.75 feet of hole, so one bag 11lbs would complete this project.

Would this be an appropriate method for removing 800 sf of badly cracked, unlevel concrete courtyard?

How many bags might be needed for 800 sq ft? Approximately how large of a flat area can be drilled and filled within the 10-minute limit? From reading other reviews it seems there are different products for specific climates, correct? What is optimal temperature range and is there a best time of day, or is it reliant on temperature alone? Does it still work if it starts to rain after pouring into drill holes? (I live in Portland, Oregon).
Asked by: sol
Hi , thanks for the question. The size of the patio is not of concern, Ecobust is applied to both small and large applications. As for drilling pattern, only the spacing between the holes needs to be 12" apart, however, the line drills can be spaced wider apart. For example, if you could handle a piece that is 2' x 1', then you can drill every 2 feet for your rows, which would cut your drilling in half! As for cracked concrete, Ecobust works by expansion in a hole...so as long as the product remains in the hole it will work...if there are areas of cracked concrete, then you could contact us for the use of using Poly bags (plastic bags) to insert the product into to avoid it from escaping into any cracked areas. Hope that helps.

Can it be used to break a small section of cement without ruining the entire cement pad?

I need to install a sump pump in my basement and in order to do so need to remove a 2' circle of cement. Can this be used to break up that section without ruining all the cement around it? Also I want to break out a channel of concrete across my floor to install a french drain under the basement floor. Can this be used to break out that channel -- 6" wide and 10 feet long -- without ruining the rest of the concrete around it.

Home Depot rents a wet diamond saw for cutting concrete. Attach a garden hose and cut a straight line.

Would Ecobust split a tree stump?

Anybody know if this will split a tree stump?
Asked by: Harry
This might work if it is a dry, hardwood stump, but wood has more "give" than rock. This is an expensive, slow way to split a stump. Burning it would be much faster and cheaper.

Can this product be used indoors?

We are renovating a 1927 house. When we removed the old tile in a couple of the rooms, we found that the builders had (for some reason) put in a two-inch concrete subfloor. The weight of the concrete caused the floor to crack and sink a bit. It would take someone a few days to chip it out by hand.
Asked by: Rick
Yes. No fumes are relased as it reacts.
