Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pump Pumps Used it twice to move 250L, no issues and pump pumps. Gets hot and make sure the suction is short and oil is used for lubrication.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed! Bought this to run water from rain barrels to garden. Works perfectly, with nice gentle flow. Runs off a tiny 12v battery. No need for a switch since hose spray attachment has a shut off. Only issue was with the little hose that comes with it. Male end was no good so I just replaced the end.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Order online, picked it up at the store and box was ripped and looked like it was opened before. But the worst part was the online ad and my receipt says 12v 350gph pump but the box says 300gph. Not really impressed with the false advertisement.

You can just pull off the clips off the battery to stop the pump while holding the pump and hoses. After adding a switch and mounting both the pump and switch on a board, it works fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Strong start but quickly deteriorated I bought this about a month ago to cycle water out of the pool, through some black tubing and then back into the pool. Worked great at the start, but after 6 times it could no longer pull water from the pool, so I moved it such that a siphon fed the pump rather than lifting water. This worked not bad for another 6 times and now the pump won't push any water at all (yes, I oiled it each time before use). I've taped the inlet/outlet just to ensure a good seal, but this makes no difference. The kit comes with a spare impeller, however absolutely no instructions anywhere as to how to change it. I've contacted Eco-flo but haven't heard back yet. Very disappointing experience, definitely the weak link in my solar project.

It was a returned item, so some of the lubricating oil had been used, but it only originally included enough to run the pump three or four times. I was able to check it out with the remaining oil. In any case, it seems to be working fine. Some reviewers said if you attach the provided hose to the intake, it collapses when drawing water. I haven't had that problem. It would help if the store staff knew what kind of oil it was. (They said use "clear" oil.) The manufacturer's instructions simply address safety concerns, saying to not put plastic bags over you head, etc. They say nothing about how many amps it uses, what kind of oil it uses etc. I emailed the manufacturer. FYI: they said use mineral / baby oil. The label on the pump says 7.5 amps.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this pump for getting water from a small stream to my garden without having to run a heavy extension cord. I have a 12 volt solar system that I run the pump from. I installed a quick connect on the inlet side so that it is easy to add oil prior to running. Wish the cord had a switch close to the pump, but that is a minor downside. Am pleased with the 360 gallon per hour speed. Makes short work of filling the water trenches in the garden.

Hello, For those of you that have had it for a while is it still working? How many uses have you gotten out of it?

Asked by: Noah
I bought this pump last year and used it to water a garden- 10 rows -70 ft long. Using weeping irrigation hoses. It pushed and watered great with 5 hoses attached to it. I did not try more than that. Used probably 8 times - running about 45 minutes each time. I did not follow directions and neglected to add the oil to the intact inlet each time I used it. I should have because there is a wearable rubber part in it that requires this. I used it twice this year and then it started to squeal - unfortunately I think it ran for about 20 minutes with no water running through. The issue was the impeller was worn because of lack of oiling that I mentioned. There was a replacement impeller included in the package so I replaced it, but unfortunately I had ruined it by letting it run dry. So I would say that it is a good pump -lots of pressure , but I did not maintain it properly. If you add the oil as directed it should work well.

I want to build a portable, DC, camping shower using ~5-6 gal of warm water. RE: EcoFlo 1/12 HP pump, I need to know: a. the diameter of the hose included (used between suction plate and motor housing), b. the diameter of the OUTLET hose that's recommended (is it the same as a: the hose that's included?) c. if the outlet hose (b) is raised almost vertically to ~10 feet w/ shower nozzle, is this motor still too strong to move 5-6 gallons of water? (I mean...will it empty the 5 gal bucket in...3 minutes?) I may do better with a 30-60 GPH fountain pump, but those calculations don't include lifting pumped water 10' and I'll lose the DC operation I prefer while camping. Hope you can help.
Asked by: JJ
JJ - The hose that comes with this pump has a 1/2" inside diameter. The threads on the pump are standard 3/4" male garden hose thread. This means you could use larger hose which would provide less flow restriction if desired. Hose with thicker, heavy duty walls is recommended, especially on the suction side, to prevent the hose from partially collapsing under vaccuum pressure. The pump is certainly capable of pumping up 10 feet high. Under this condition, it would empty a 5 gallon bucket in 2-3 minutes, depending on how large the hose diameter is that you choose. Good luck and happy camping! ECO-FLO Customer Service

is this the pump I use to drain water from a flooded area like a basement?

I have a split level and get water in the lower level when it rains a lot. know I need more permanent solution but need something more immediate
Asked by: Mikki
Mikki, There are several options available to use for your application. With that said, we wouldn't recommend the selection you have now unless it is a smaller amount of water and you are attempting to get as close to the floor as possible. Also, this pump uses "gator clips" to attached to a vehicle battery for power and not a typical house plug. Contact our team at 844-883-1872. Thanks.

hello, I want to transfer the water from my backyard (flooded) to the street. No great deal of elevation but I am concern about the length of the hose, about 100 feet
Asked by: George
George, This pump is designed for light duty/smaller water transfer jobs. At roughly 100' discharge this pump may not be your best option. Of course, if the discharge had some downhill discharge to it, it would perform well, but on a flat surface or incline there would be better options. Please contact our support experts at 844-883-1872 so they can help with your situation specifically and make sure you have the correct pump for your job. Thanks.

I am wanting to suck water out of a creek uphill to use for watering and showering. Will this work

Asked by: Stealthbobber06
Stealthbobber06, This pump can be used in that type of application, however additional details may need to be known to make sure it is the correct pump for the job. First, what type of "uphill" are we looking at? Second, what type of hose is being used (there will be friction between the water and the type of hose, restricting the flow)? How much pressure are you hoping to have? These questions should be answered and we can help, please contact ECO-FLO at 877-326-3561. Thanks.

I'm wondering what sort of pressure the pump has on the output. I'm looking to use a small DC pump to drive a dripper irrigation system but it would need enough pressure to drive the water through the drippers and mini-sprinklers. Is there a pump curve showing gpm / head available?
