Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic We live in Port Perry where the tap water quality is horrible in terms of taste and odor. We had a Water Softener already but the water was undrinkable even after passing through the fridge filter. Someone in town recommended this model and installed it for us. Instantly the best water we've ever had from any tap, anywhere! The savings in bottled water will easily pay for this in the 1st year. The taste and clarity is as good or better than any bottled water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great System For the price, it's a great reverse osmosis system. We live on an acreage outside of Calgary and our well water is very soft and contains an assortment of chemicals I'd rather not ingest. This system cleans the water effectively and is providing us with some great drinking water. Love the tank system as it provides much needed water pressure. The system is constructed well and is fairly easy to set up (essentially plug the coloured cables to the applicable coloured holes throughout the system). Love the fact this could be installed in a location other than under the sink, however, because time was of the essence I opted for under the sink.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your time A sad tale to tell. Everything installs easily, until leaks appear at the 1/4-in cold water takeoff fitting. No typical fix works, so you contact Glacier Bay's 1-800 line, who, after much discussion, agree to send a new fitting. After a two week wait, the fitting is a 1/2-inch one. So you go to Home Depot and are instructed to return the original box and leaky 1/4-in fitting and exchange it for a completely new unit in order to get a replacement 1/4-in fitting. Which you do. Then you return home, open the box and discover that there is no 1/4-in fitting in the box, rather a 1/2-in one. For some reason, Glacier Bay changed their fitting size but kept the model number the same. Oh well, you say, and rip out the old unit, return it to Home Depot and start again with the new unit. But need adapters so your (standard) 1/4-in cold water piping can attach to the new 1/2-in fitting. So you return to Home Depot which, naturally, doesn't carry them. You are directed to a larger Home Depot which, unsurprisingly, doesn't carry them either. Bottom line: don't waste your money on Glacier Bay products. Unless you also want to waste a tremendous amount of time and effort, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product A good quality filter that makes good tasting water. The small dispenser that cone with it is also good quality. The only bad thing about the set up is the plastic fittings that come with it I replaced them with brass ones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 800 number wants to sell me a cruise Owned this unit for about two years, so outside warranty now. It has started leaking. I only need to replace the main unit, so I'd rather not repurchase the tank etc. Called the 800 number on the manual--and got suckered into a forced sale for a free cruise! No way to get past their stupid survey about what vacations I like, at least not before I hung up. The most polite interpretation is that their phone line has been hacked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would give this 0 star if possible Leaks leaks leaks... don't waste your money. Woke up this morning and had water everywhere. The first three times it happened I checked all the hoses and reinstalled them all into the ports, wiped everything down and it was good for about a week or so each time. This being the fourth time I removed the system and will be returning it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great taste, but it leaked I had this system for two years or three years when it started leaking. My first thought was that it might have something to do with the filters, so I replaced them...no luck. So then I just repurchased the whole system, since I had just invested in the new filters, and it's not that expensive a system--in fact, a full set of filters and membrane is more than half the value, and they come with it when you buy. I've added a leak detector under the sink for the next time it happens...which I suspect there will be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple system to use, easy to install and maintain We've used this and a predecessor system that is virtually identical for over 10 years. The system is easy to install, and use. The filters in our use get changed every couple of years, since we leave home for about 6 months of each year. The media membrane is replaced 4-5 years.

My Ecop30 has weird problem, water comes out from faucet is so slow, meanwhile the storage tank is only about 1/4 full, New first and third filters just were installed 3 months ago,and RO membrane installed 11 months ago. I wonder what's wrong with it?

what hook up requirements is there... ? Is it easy to install? What is required?

Asked by: CaptainNS
Hook up is pretty straight forward. They provide you with a number of good length coloured tubing which simply use push connectors when connecting to the various items. For under the sink installs, the amount of plastic tubing would certainly suffice for the most common installs. If you're opting for a more remote install location, you'd need to purchase additional tubing. All in all the system installed quite easily...maybe 1 hour max?

Does this filter mount under the sink

Asked by: Murphy34
You bet. It can be installed under the sink or in a more remote location. I opted for under the sink and I have room to spare, even with a nice size tank and this unit.

Hello is this a 3 stage unite? Will 4need a water booster to work with my refrigerator ice maker&water

Asked by: Paul
It depends on your water pressure. If you are on city water, you will most likely not need a water booster.
