Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey but durable and easy to install I used these tiles as an added layer for my son's play area in the backyard. They are very quick and easy to install and seems to be durable so far. Just make sure to secure the edges and the sides so they don't slip!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubber tiles They look great but don’t stick together well at all. The surface has to be immaculately flat, but even that doesn’t stop pop ups. They are too stiff, when you walk in them tiles pop up in other places. I removed them and put in a low lying deck instead. They also smell. Not a good buy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy! Exactly what I was looking for, easy to install and remove if and when needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from In consistent color Just got these today. They were really easy to put together BUT some of the tiles were more dark brown than black. Even the black ones were more grey than black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, easy to install I just used this product to cover my balcony deck and I am beyond happy with it. It looks really good and was very easy to install. It snaps together easily and it took me only a couple of evenings work to finish the main part, although cutting the tiles to fit the edges was more difficult. The package recommends you use a hacksaw but because the tiles are recycled rubber, a hacksaw doesn't work that well. A linoleum cutter might work better. It seems that Home Depot is discontinuing this product - I don't know why. It's a great value for the money and I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I have done a ton of research into outdoor deck tiles. These ones, and their brown cousins named "Earth" tiles continue to impress me because of their strength, durability, looks, impact resistance (i.e. slight spongy feel), and resistance to mould and fading. Much better than Ikea tiles which are prone to rusting and fading (wood tiles) and blowing away with high winds (plastic tiles). These ones weigh more, at 1.5 lbs each, so aren't going to fly anytime soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would never install on a deck Please read the Q & A. Even the local store says never to install these on top of a wood deck. They get very hot in direct sunlight and the smell of rubber never seems to go away.

A few questions: 1) Does this tile require maintenance (e.g. to preserve colour, improve longevity, etc) 2) Is there a recommendation better the rubber smell 3) Can these tiles withstand cold winters? Is there a maximum temp

    Asked by: Nanzy
    1) We have not conducted testing for products that can preserve the colour and or improve the longevity of the tiles. The tiles will slightly fade like most product exposed to UV sunlight. 2) As the tile is exposed to the air and let in place for a while, the odor will fade. 3) Yes, the tiles can stand harsh Canadian winters.

Can I put these on top of a vinyl deck? There aren't any structural issues with the vinyl it's just fading and dirty

    Asked by: AmyS
Hello, yes as long as it's level, however once weight is put on the deck tile, it will probably leave indentations on the vinyl floor so if you are concerned about the vinyl flooring, then you may need to choose a different tile that is completely flat.

Is this ideal to use in a damp location? It rains here 3/4 of the year.

    Asked by: Islander
The tiles are manufactured from recycled materials, primarily recycled rubber and are slightly raised which is a benefit. Water will come through the tiles however and may rest underneath.

Can this material be applied on top of a flat roof rubber membrane? Or would we need to put something between the flat roof and tile?

    Asked by: Hoylee2000
We have not conducted testing for an application over EPDM roofing so we are not able to comment on the efficacy. Deck Tile requires a solid and level foundation like wood or cement for best results. Please note there is also the potential of the Deck Tile puncturing the membrane once there is weight on it.

My dog is white and hairy Will his hair stick to the tiles like velvet or would it sweep off easily?

    Asked by: Orca
Deck & Balcony Tile can be swept easily. Please keep in mind however that hair may be harder to sweep in the hotter summer months and may require hosing down or power washing.

Can these be used like a paving stone on a sand base (i.e., on the ground)?

    Asked by: Gordo
No.  They need a hard base such as a wooden deck. Otherwise they are great.  Stayed locked together, easy to clean and look good.

Could this be used in an area used by dogs, will it clean up ok if it is soiled

    Asked by: JDP2019
We would not recommend this for an area used by dogs as the feces will collect between and underneath the tiles.
