Great priceGreat price and love the light, do recommend wearing gloves to put the shades up, this will eliminate the finger prints on them. Had zero issue putting the shades on at all, put one of the sticks through the chrome shade and then slipped the glass one on and then added the other 2 stick parts to the shades. Got all 3 shades on in about 5 mins. Longest part was getting them all to the proper length but even that wasn’t too bad just a little time consuming.

Looks nice, but don't do it!We've installed many light fixtures and this was by far the worst. Adjusting the length of the pendants was very time consuming. Trying to get the final light together (the glass and chrome pieces) is practically a full time job...consider a sabbatical. We made the mistake of not putting in LED bulbs when we installed it...it gives off enough heat to warm our dining room with those halogen bulbs! Now we have to fight with it again to put LED bulbs in. I think the whole fixture might be going in the garbage. It's such a ridiculous waste of time. Plan on most of a day to install, and another day if you ever want to change the lightbulbs. Not recommended.
The product measures around 2.5 ft and if centered, it will leave you with about 2 ft on each end. The bulbs shine down and the light may not reach the complete 7 ft island. However, the bulbs can be replaced with the equivalent LED GU10 bulbs and depending on its lumens/kelvins, they can illuminate more of the island.

I bought and had a professional renovation company install these lights as part of a major renovation. They have no idea how to adjust the length. So please, could someone tell me how to do this (adjust the length)?

We highly suggest to have a certified electrician help with the products' installation. The height is adjustable to a minimum wire length of 4" from the canopy to the top of the glass. To shorten the wire, it has to be pulled from the inside of the canopy and the excess wire can be tucked under the canopy.
