Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it. Love the ease of use and it is very light so that helps whipping about the yard. Very easy to start and the battery is good through the entire yard mowing (about 20 - 30 min.) You must be very careful not to use it in tall grass (as our neighbors did...) It can overheat the battery. This is a “Tesla” so treat it as such.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well if you cut regularly Works well if you maintain your lawn. If you have taller grass or weeds it simply lacks the power to cut through. It is really nice to not worry about gas or a cord but it could use more power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am sold on the Battery Operated Mower! I was one of those hesitant in buying a battery operated lawnmower. I am 62 years old and have been mowing lawns for over 50 years now (mowed my parents lawn when I was a kid). My parents had Craftsman lawnmowers and so did I. They were, until recently, very reliable and dependable. The ones I have owned lasted 10 to 15 years. I still have a backup Craftsman I bought in 2001 that runs well. My last one that I bought in 2014, with a Briggs and Stratton engine, started having issues in its 3rd year of use. I have always been one to meticulously take care of my lawnmowers, so the downfall was not neglect on my part. So, I decided to replace my lawnmower and looked into battery operated ones. I narrowed it down to the EGO and to DR Power Equipment. DR Power had a 62V 21 inch push mower with a metal deck that was $50 less than EGO. The battery was a little stronger on the DR (62V) and both had 5.0ah. Both came with a battery charger. DR Power offered a 6 month Home Trial, which EGO did not. The reason I went with EGO was the longer warranty. DR Power had a much shorter warranty period than EGO. I needed this sense of security since I was not totally sold on battery operated. Paying an additional $50, for a longer warranty period made perfectly good sense to me. In addition, EGO lawnmowers were sold at ACE and at Home Depot in my town of Omaha, NE, whereas, DR Power did not have any physical locations near me. So, if something should go wrong on a DR equipment, I would have to ship it back to them. I have mowed my lawn 4 times and I must say I am totally sold on it. It works as advertised and I am pleasantly surprised that the battery is as powerful as it is. Granted, my lawn is not extremely plush, and I have not mowed in conditions that are harsh. (grass was dry, grass was not very tall). I have about a quarter of an acre, and I can mow the yard on one charge with some juice still leftover in the battery. My only concern is the longevity of the battery itself. The 3 year warranty does reduce that concern though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a LONG TERM review. I have had this mower for 5 years now and currently use it 2x a week.... This is a LONG TERM review. I have had this mower for 5 years now and currently use it 2x a week. It has been a very reliable machine overall all the while being used harder than the typical homeowner will likely ever will (See video links below!). I was initially drawn to it for the advertised long run time, quick charging time, and light weight. I was extremely impressed with it's power and ease of use. The main mower body/handle: The battery hatch is easy to open and close and is translucent. The deck has held up wonderfully with no splits, cracks, or discoloration. The wheels have THROUGH axles. This is important for long term durability. This helps distribute the load and shock the wheels receive from going over bumps etc. The deck, being a poly material is light weight but seemingly very durable and RUST proof. The deck on mine still looks great. The ONLY rust I have observed yet is on the chrome trim plate that surrounds the deck height adjustment and even that is so mild that some steel wool and WD40 would take it right away. The handle is strong and folds very easily. The latches have held up fine through hundreds of folding cycles and show no signs of significant wear. The handle folds flat against the machine for easy storage, either on the wheels, or against the wall, balanced on the back end of the machine. With the battery removed, this is MUCH easier for a smaller or older person to get into the truck of a car or in the bed of a pickup/SUV. The mower comes with a mulch plug and side discharge chute as well as a collection bag for clippings. I use the bag 98% of the time. It installs and removes easily, is secure, and is easy to inspect the "fullness" of the bag. After 5 years, it has faded from UV exposure from jet black to a grey-ish black but is still structurally sound. I do wish it held a bit more though. On the back of the motor housing is a small button and light panel where you can observe the relative power reserve, motor stall warning, and turn on and off the dual LED headlights. The light is green during most mowing, if you encounter VERY heavy grass the light will flash YELLOW warning you to SLOW DOWN or raise the deck height because the motor is going to "Stall". If the motor does do this, simply back the mower up into already cut grass and restart the mower and resume cutting, either at a slower pace or higher height. When the battery is down to about 15% capacity, it will blink RED, indicating to charge ASAP. Ignoring this will get you about 5 min more mowing before the battery shuts down for it's own protection. The LED lights actually ARE useful. If you are ALMOST done and are really trying to stretch your mowing time, they will provide enough light to mow by. Battery/Motor: The battery, a 4.0 Amp Hour unit, continues to work faithfully, though I am getting about 75% of the run time as I did when new due to the MANY charge cycles and age of the battery. The newest batteries, in the newer mower model are now 5.0 Amp Hour and are completely reverse compatible with the older mowers. The batteries install and remove very easily while still providing a very secure lock-up and are protected from all but the most serious water intrusion. Leaving the mower out in the yard during a rain storm is not a problem if you forgot to put it away. The motor in this unit IS NOT brushless. Though is a big selling point on the newer, more expensive models, this motor has proven very reliable, with ZERO problems. It has enough RPMs and torque for anything a homeowner is going to throw at it. This mower will still do my whole yard on one charge. I could ALMOST do 2 full mows when new. Company Support: EGO has built a complete ecosystem around their battery system and ALL of their tools are compatible with ALL of their batteries. This means long term support should be around and easy to get for many years. I have found the company responsive when called or e-mailed. Their line of tools is constantly expanding, updating, and innovating. Pro's: Easy of use. No tune ups, gas to buy, oil changes etc. QUIET. I can mow at 10pm and my neighbors don't care. Performance/durability. Has run and continues to run like a champ and take whatever I throw at it. Con's: Cost. When I bought it new, it was $500. Blades. Most shops will not carry them. Order a second to swap out while you get the other sharpened. Additional/replacement batteries are $$$. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even my 10 year old can use it easily! We've had this mower for 3 years now, and loved every minute of it. As a kid, I remember pushing the non-propelled gas mower and being exhausted, and my parents have 1/2 the yard we have. Buying the non-propelled version made me a little nervous if our son could easily mow the lawn. Not disappointed at all. He quickly got through the front long without any problems, first time ever mowing a lawn. This year, we had a large tree fall in the backyard during winter, and it took awhile for it to be warm and dry enough to cut it to pieces and get rid of it. Which means the lawn around it, which would have been hard to mow, got about 18 inches long. Our son (now 12) was not only able to mow the lawn, but mulch it without any issues, though we did mow it on the highest setting. He had to go a little slower than normal, but it held up, batter, blades and all. Mulched well enough that we didn't have to worry about spreading around the grass or raking it. A few small patches of extra grass, but mostly it blended in within a few days. Since purchasing the lawnmower, have purchased a few other tools (string trimmer, chainsaw, considering snowblower). Love Ego and the power it has, with the quite motor. Our neighbors have never complained when we move late into the evening (around 9pm), and the lights help to get the job done.

Est-ce qu'il y aurait moyen de mettre une description du produit plus claire? LE produit principal ici, si je ne me trompe pas est une tondeuse, pas une batterie.

Is that true that this mower doesn't come with a battery? That would be ridiculous! When I buy a car I expect the wheels to be included.

    Asked by: steppara
Hello Steppara! While the model you are referencing does not come with a battery or charger, we do not have models available online that includes everything to run the tool! Try looking at LM2002! Some customers may have other EGO product already, and do not want to have additional batteries and chargers, so we make the option available to them here! Thank you for your question.

will a 2Ahr battery power this mower...

    Asked by: digger
Hello Digger! While the battery will certainly power the mower, your run time will be very short. We recommend using 4.0Ah batteries or above and keeping the smaller Ah batteries as backup. Thank you for your question!

Pourquoi EGO batterie et chargeur non inclus ???? Et combien faudra-t-il debourser en surplus pour l'avoir ??? c'est un peu ridicule de vendre des outils electric sans chargeur et batterie ???

    Asked by: LuckyLuc

How long could I expect this mower to last on the 2.0aH battery (I have 2 from previous EGO lawn tool purchases)...

    Asked by: mjuliennow
Tough to say, as run time is hugely impacted by terrain, but stronger batteries provide longer cut time. If you have a hilly or large lawn, we’d suggest using one of our more powerful batteries or alternatively, making sure your second battery is fully charged and ready to go. With the 2.0Ah battery, you can expect up to 20 minutes of run time.

Does this lawn mower come with the battery? Or is it sold separately?

    Asked by: Selmer
This particular model does not include a battery or charger. If that’s something you’re interested in, search homedepot.ca for “LM2002”
