Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first battery powered mower! This is my first battery powered mower and I’m wondering why I waited so long! Lightweight, quiet, and easy to store. The setup right out of the box was quick and easy. The main mower is assembled and all I needed to do was to install a frame for the leaf/mulch bag. I was mowing with 5-10 mins after taking it out of the box. If you thinking of buying an EGO battery powered mower - do it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power+ 21” Select Cut mower! I think I own just about every Ego tool (except the snow blower, which I’m saving for). I hadn’t tried their mowers yet, waiting for the design to mature. I finally pulled the trigger on the new Select Cut with Touch Drive. I am So glad I did. This mower is easy to set up, easy to use, requiring much less effort than my previous self propelled. The controls are well laid out, the cut is perfect, the adjustability is fantastic! Now if they could only make them so you can wash the deck off?

We have the usual gas mower and that has definitely been replaced by this electric mower. No need to worry about gas and starting the mower. This mower starts with ease and is very light weight but powerful enough to do a great job. The mower is very quiet. Great for those early summer mornings when you want to get the lawn done but you dont' want to wake the neighborhood. Also, very easy to assemble. A definite recommendation. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weak Self-propelled start, good mower I like this mower. I like the tri-cut blades and how easy it is to store this mower. I am going from a gas Husqvarna AWD mower that was very high maintenance to this Ego. I am so used to a ritual of checking oil, gas, shut off valves, choke... ext. before starting my mower... then running the carburetor dry after each use and letting the engine cool down before storing. Then you have the regular engine maintenance and cleaning of carburetors to keep it going. Coming from that to this Ego is a big change that I am still trying to get used to. My initial impressions were not so great. I was so used to the heavy vibration that rocks you to your bones and noise of the gas mower that gives me the impression of a powerful mower. When started this mower it was quiet and smooth and very light. I didn't think this mower had the power needed to mulch. Since it's winter, I don't have any grass to mow, but I do have a yard with a decent amount of leaves and twigs that I would typically mulch with my gas mower. So, I tried this Ego and it does have the power to mulch everything. The lack of noise and vibration will take some getting used to. My only gripe about this mower is the lack of initial speed and torque of the Self-Propelled feature. Coming from an AWD self-propelled gas mower to this… is difficult. I didn't realize that I rely on the torque of the gas self-propelled in a very specific manner until I switched to this mower. Example: I am used to make tight turns in tight/awkward spaces in my yard that I would lean my body weight to accommodate for these type of turns almost losing my balance… then relying on the torque and speed of the self-propelled gas mower to “yank me back into balance”. This ego mower and it’s “delay self-propelled” annoys me. I guess when I thought of electric mower, in my head I thought how powerful Tesla’s are and expected the self-propelled to be the same. This will take some getting used to. I wish there was a way to switch between a “quick off the line mode” and a “soft mode” Other than that, one issue, I really like that this mower is made of plastic. That means no rust! Having to maintain and repair my rusty gas mower is what pushed me to buy this electric mower over the winter. I look forward to the Spring when I really get to put this into it’s paces. Note: I can see changing the blades can be a little difficult for your average consumer who might not have the right tools. The nuts were torqued down very tightly. I ended up using my impact gun to remove the blades from the mower… and my bench vice to hold it down one blade while I used the impacted gun again to remove the two bolts holding down the second blade.

I am a little familiar with Electric Lawn Mowers as I grew up in a townhouse and my family had a “corded” Electric lawn mower that lasted many years. When it broke, I bought a new one that lasted me till I got married and moved out and bought a single-family house. I quickly found out that my trusty old corded electric lawn mower wasn’t powerful enough for a 1/4 acer lot. So, for the past 7 years, I have owned a Husqvarna AWD mower gas mower with a Honda Engine. I quickly grew tired of the maintenance that is required to keep such a gas mower running. Examples of gas mower life: Carburetor cleaning, oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, storing and stabilizing gas, adjusting governor, AWD transmission failing, drive belt replacement, rusty bolts, clips, and pins, remembering to run the mower dry after each use, and hot engine needing to be cooled down before I can store it. Needless to say, I got tired of all of this and decided to give electric cordless lawnmowers a try. Switching from gas to electric is taking some getting used to. This mower cuts great, however I don’t “FEEL” that it cuts great. I got so used to the heavy vibration and noise of gas that when I turned on this mower and felt nothing… I had my doubts that it would cut well. It’s winter so I really don’t have much grass to mow, but I did try it out on leaves and twigs in my lawn as these are things that I would mulch with ease in my gas mower. This quiet, smooth, and light mower took care of mulching all of these things with ease like my gas mower did, just without the noise and vibration that I have come to expect. My only issue that I dislike about this mower for is the self-propelled feature. The self-propelled on this Ego mower works and the speed is adjustable, and it can go uphill on its own. However, there is a delayed from when you engage it… to when it starts to go at full speed and it’s not as powerful “torquey” enough as gas. I remember reading other reviews of people complain about this on the older model of this mower and didn’t think it would be a problem for me until I actually used in the real world. What I concluded as to the reason I don’t like the EGO “delay self-propelled” feature is coming from a powerful gas AWD mower that has a lot of torque, you tend to get used to and actually rely on the strength self-propelled to physically pull you. Example, I noticed that mowing close to the fence or in tight spaces, I would lean my body weight to allow space to turn this mower almost losing my balance, then using the gas mower self-propelled to “yank” me back… regaining my balance. This Ego mower doesn’t do the same as the delay in speed and lack of torque. I never noticed that’s how I mowed my lawn until I actually switched to this mower. Other than that, this mower is awesome. I love how light it is and how much more space I now have in my shed. This thing folds up nicely and I now have much more room in my shed to store other stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still waiting I love everything EGO that I own (mower, blower, trimmer, hedge trimmer, chain saw) and when I heard about an update to the mower I was happy. I thought EGO would finally put swivel wheels on the mower (at least front wheels) to better maneuver around corners and bends. There certainly have been comments made before about the original mower to inform the need. Alas, I am disappointed this is not included in the update.

This mower is a direct replacement of my one month old Ego mower that i gave to my son in law . I really like not having to deal with gas, oil and noise anymore. It kills me when my neighbor's lawn service comes and makes a racket. This unit comes with one battery and charger which was shipped alone. The mower arrived a day later I gave the battery a quick charge while i unboxed the mower. Everything was included including the two bushel collection bag and an extra blade. I gave the lawn a quick once over to get some leaves up before the first snow, which did arrive as i was finishing up. I like that they reworked the different paces at which you walk at. The new twin blade system is also a big plus.as it really chops the clippings up much better, I am pleased to have my ego mower back again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
