It is the second front load washer I have owned and I love it. It it so much better than the first front load washer I had, I will not name the brand of my first machine, but the Electrolux is so much better.

It is very quiet and the washing features are easy to use and select. I have never had the steam feature and have used it several times to remove wrinkles from pants, shirts and freshen up jeans. It is also gentle enough to use with dry clean only clothing. A bonus feature is the light that is inside, making it easy to see into the washer. The pedestal brings it to the perfect height too.

hi does this model replace the efls617siw wich is discontinued ?

What is the actual capacity of this machine? It says 5.0 CuFt IEC, but also says that the Drum Capacity is 4.3 CuFt. I'm trying to compare the size to other machines, and I'm trying to figure out why the capacity is listed 2 ways, and what the meaning is.

Hi, snowbunny! IEC stands for International Electrotechnical Commission and they try to harmonize the various standards between various countries so the capacity in Europe will be the same capacity in North America. The industry standard is now that of the U.S. Department of Energy instead of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). For example, a washer with a previous IEC capacity of 5.0 cu ft is now a 4.3 cu ft washer by U.S. DOE standards. ~ Brandi
