Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective product Inside the new bag, the component B was hardened ( not rock hard though) and it dissolved, however, there are still some gel-like pieces on it ( about the size of a rice ) We applied and these little pieces didn't dry after 48 hours and I assume that they will never dry. We don't know what to do!?

Can I add a small ratio of acrylic paint to darken the colour of the epoxy?

Asked by: Mikeyboy
Hi, I wouldn't. You could mess up the epoxy mix when it starts to harden by taking this chance. Then again, you might get away with it but if it doesn't work out...you will have a nightmare on your hands if it never sets up properly. Its not a bad grey color...I like it as is. Steve

Does this product require a premier prior to application. I understand the cleaning/etching prep process just wondering if it also needs to be primed prior to applying this epoxy.

Asked by: Jayd
I didn't prime, used instructions as per the kit

Do I need to apply rust-oleum floor primer on my sealed concrete prior to applying the epoxy shield 2/12 garage kit , or can I just apply the epoxy shield onto concrete after it has been completely cleaned properly , my garage floor is about 20 years old.

Asked by: Mike
Hi. I have a similar aged garage floor. I believe the most important thing is to get the old concrete as clean as a whistle as the saying goes. I had a bunch of spots on the floor that defied cleaning, so I rented a Home Depot diamond grit floor machine and ground the floor to look like new. A very dusty process, but did a really nice job. I would recommend that you apply the clear coat after the floor has been done. I found a lot of the "spackles" let go as I didn't use the clear coat. Floor is about 1.5 years old now and still looks good.

Can this product be used on a basement concrete floor? The description says it can be used on interior surfaces, but gives a garage as an example. Also, should I use this for a basement floor, or should I use the 1-part epoxy stuff instead?

Asked by: putty3d
I used it at work in an office. Make sure you have ventilation. Prep is everything. I had a crack in the concrete that I thought would fill but I can see it clear as day. So prep cracks and make sure everything is very clean. After that it is very easy to use (applied with roller) and gives a very durable finish. I advise not using the flakes, not what I was expecting, would be better without. I plan to use this product at home when the weather warms up a little.

Since my garage is full of stuff can I do half the garage one day and the other half the next or do you have to use it all in one shot?

Asked by: Curt99
Everything the same day.. In fact you should take a 5 gallons bucket and mixt all of it together.. Failing to do that, you run a chance to have not exactly the same color..

Bonjour, je veux faire mon garage qui a environ 400 pieds carrés. J'ai loué une sableuse industrielle et ramené mon plancher au ciment. Questions: 1- Est-il préférable de mettre 2 couches de gris?

Asked by: Sylvain
Salut, Une couche de notre kit de revêtement pour plancher de garage Epoxyshield suffit. Cependant, il n'y a rien de mal à appliquer une deuxième couche pour uniformiser la finition, car chaque sol en béton peut accepter la peinture différemment.

I want to apply this over interior concrete floors that are already painted. Do I need a primer before applying this? After applying, should I follow up the Epoxyshield coating with a sealer? I want a grey, non-speckled, glossy finish.

Asked by: bubs19
My garage floor was painted. I used my power pressure washer to thoroughly clean the floor. Bottom line I followed all the product's instructions and never had any trouble. I never used any sealer and ended up with a grey glossy finish. The most important advice is to spend the time to clean the floor properly.
