Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works and Lasts Did my first garage floor with this 11 years ago, and it still looks great. no peeling, no flaking, no hot tire pickup. (just a small area slightly damaged from studded front tire scrub, but thats my fault). i used 2 packages and the colour matches perfectly. It took me 3 days to apply as i followed the instructions (1 day to clean/prep and dry, 2 days to paint in 2 different sections). One section was 20 year old concrete, the other was one year old concrete. My second garage was just done and also looks great. I believe the negative reviews must be from not following the directions or surface contamination. Highly recommended. p.s. i tried a different brand without epoxy in a basement and it didnt last at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from THIS PRODUCT IS GARBAGE I applied this product this summer. I was warned about the quality of this product but I thought if I followed the instructions perfectly, the finish would last, I also added the clear coat for additional protection. The cement was brand new, fully cured, no stains, I cleaned the cement with the citric cleaner provided, allowed it to dry completely before I applied this product. 5 months after application,it has started to peel off in one location right in front of the main door. Possibly due to cold? Vehicle traffic? In my opinion, Poor quality product?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Finished Look I used this product to cover a 20 X 24 garage floor and only really needed 1.25 cans of the 2 cans in the kit. I also added the Rustoleum Anti Skid additive to hopefully reduce slips and falls. The prep work is the most time consuming, and you have to apply the epoxy product when the ambient temperature is just right. Take your time on the prep, and don't be in a rush. Follow all directions to the letter and your floor will turn out just fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth it! I laid down this product carefully and precisely as per the manufacturers instructions. A year later it came off in 1/4 of the area. Nobody could advise me why! I now have to cover with expensive floor mats. The effort in laying it was great as it required etching the existing concrete after cleaning. Did it twice to make sure the surface was clean. Applying the two part mix was less difficult but still it took a whole day with a terrible result after one year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great Bought this about a month ago, looks great. Take your time with the preparation and it will come out great. I spent 4 hrs preparing and only 2 hrs applying the actual product. Also applied the clear coat product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money This product is not cheap and it takes a lot of time to prep and do the job properly. We spent the money and time to do it right. Within 6months this product has worn off and peeled with just foot traffic. Not even a car or anything heavy on it! Very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the effort After watching a lot of videos and doing research, I decided to take the plunge. There was enough bad reviews to make me hesitant to invest so much time and effort to install this, but it was worth the effort. My garage floor looks like a car showroom. The surface is reasonably durable and is not wearing or peeling at all anywhere. Here's how I applied it and ended up with a beautiful finish: Step 1: Empty garage and wash with degreaser then provided acid etch Step 2: Sand concrete floor with 80 grit orbital sander or grinder Step 3: Patch cracks with latex concrete patch filler Step 4: Sand floor again Step 5: Clean floor with cleaner and another acid etch. Step 6: Vacuum thoroughly. Rub your hand on the concrete floor until there is no sand Step 7: If necessary, cook garage with heater until concrete floor temp is above 18c. Step 8: Apply base coat at temps around 20c and maintain temp above 20c for 24hrs. Step 9: Apply second coat same as above 24hrs after first coat. I have a two car garage. 1st coat used 1.5 gallons. 2nd coat used 1 gallon. For added durability, add the sand kit in the 2nd coat of paint. I used duct tape for the garage door edge and let it dry for several days before removing. Wait at least 3-4 days before parking a car. This will get much much harder after a couple weeks. The longer you can leave it the better. Hope this helps with your garage project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great garage floor coating ! Very easy to use if you follow the prep directions. Was easier to apply the floor paint with a second helper sprinkling the chips on the ground. For sure use the clear coat , which is a separate box for maximum wear

I am building a new garage. New concrete. How long after concrete is poured can I apply the coating. Do I need to perform a moisture test to the concrete. If I do, do you have the test kits. Wow, lots of questions, I hope you can answer.

Asked by: Andrew
You should let the new concrete cure for 6 weeks then vacuum to remove any dust and apply epoxy.  I’m in Edmonton and garage is heated but always carrying in sand and salt on tires but after 2 years the finish is still perfect. Great product

I have a cement floor and i would like to cover it with this epoxy, the floor is treated with a sealer will this stay on ? or what do you suggest i use thanks

Asked by: mikeq
Hi mikeq, Great question! Our Garage Floor coatings are best suited for bare concrete/cement. Check for curing compounds or other types of sealers by pouring a small amount of water onto the concrete. If water soaks in, the surface is porous enough and is suitable for coating. If water beads up on the concrete, the surface is not porous and a test application is warranted to ensure proper adhesion will develop. Sanding or mechanical abrading may be required if proper adhesion does not develop.

Will this product work on 3/4 inch plywood floor?

Asked by: Bob 1
You would have to find a way to adequately tape and seal all the joints or it will crack and flake along all the joints

I am looking to epoxy coat my garage floor. I will be using the garage for business purposes and need it to be slip free and durable enough for heavy rolling tool cabinets. Will it be strong enough for that? Also, could you clearcoat for strength?

Asked by: Peter
I would use this product for my personal residence but not for a business heavy traffic area.  It is better to use a professional grade product that unfortunately is not sold at the Home Depot.  Make sure that you floor is completely free of any grease or residue!

Could you tell me if I can use this product on my porch.  I can apply sealer on top.

Asked by: Peddy
It will fade from the sun. There is no UV protection from fading. My garage floor paint job is now 2 years old and there is a distinctive colour difference at the garage door. Outside the door it has faded and the clear coat has yellowed. I would suggest finding something that is specifically made for outdoors.

Can you use one can for two coats (1 car garage)? If the second coat needs to be done 12 hours following, will the epoxy be ok in the can for that long, and can it be done in the same day? Ie. 9am and 9pm???

Asked by: Ange
The garage floor doesn't need 2 coats and I'm not sure that it would last in the can for that long after mixing in the 2 parts together. I would look at possibly doing another floor in addition to your 1 car garage. I did my bsmt electrical room as well and it turned out great.
