Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made my small dresser harder to move, not easier I installed these at the 4 corners on a small lowboy dresser. Perhaps it was the spherical shape, or perhaps the small diameter, but they simply dug in and it definitely did not slide. Very disappointing. I will remove the and sand the base to make it smoother.

Will these damage vinyl plank floors? Need something for dining room chairs that my husband can easily push away from table on. Felt pads don't work as they slide right off and leave glue all over the floor.

Asked by: Not suitable
We used them for wooden chairs on a porcelain tile floor, textured for outside use (e.g.pool decks and patios). They're to protect the chairs' legs from shredding on the tile since porcelain is harder than steel. The sliders have left no marks on our tile and have worn less than a millimeter in a year's use. However, plastic on vinyl may not be the same. 1. Try looking up the vinyl plank maker's recommendations on line for protecting from furniture. If not helpful, then: 2. Get a small slider pack and test a one by rubbing it hard (to simulate sliding a chair under load) on a hidden floor area (back of a closet or such) to see if it leaves a mark. The other thing to watch for is eventually the slider will wear down to the steel nail that secures it into your furniture which for sure will tear up your floor. If you use these, you must check their wear periodically and replace them before the nail head pokes through.
