Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made I bought this a couple years ago, worked fine until yesterday when I noticed water on the floor. The pump was engaging properly but, when it activated, water would spew out from the holes where the hoses drain in - like it was full of hungry piranhas. This had never happened before so I took it apart and found that the elbow part in which the check valve is threaded was completely broken in half which makes no sense since I have never had to tighten the check valve. In fact, I haven't touched it at all since I installed it. It's like it just spontaneously cracked. Can't find replacement parts available anywhere online, so now I guess I have to buy a whole new pump because of what I can only assume was an overly tightened check valve. This part is probably worth about 50 cents.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked for a year and a half, then stopped Bought about 18 months ago. Installed easily, quiet, etc. Ran without trouble until today. Now it won't shut off; instead, it keeps running. I've taken it apart and tested it; the safety switch no longer shuts it off so it just keeps running even with no water in the reservoir. This is a lot better than shutting off and not restarting, but it means the motor will eventually burn out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pump Just bought today. My old pump ran at lease 15 mins to off, installed this one it was off in less then a minute. So fast thought we blew a breaker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from When it works, it works fine..... My old pump died after 8 years of service looking after a furnace and flow thru humidifier, flooding the area around it in the process. Lucky that my local HD had these in stock. Once home I discovered that there was no way to keep the float attached. That's kind of important. Should have had some kind of pin or "C" clip, something or the moment it drains the float falls out. I had something in my tool chest that would do the job. Like many of these things they seem to shut off from time to time for no apparent reason. I suspect it's the float. This allows water to spill out all over the floor you are trying to keep dry. lt's at the very least an inconvenience and at worst a right pain. Really need to find a better solution. Don't leave the store without checking it's all there.

Why does the float switch become reversed? When the reservoir is empty, the pump runs. If I manually lift the float to simulate a full reservoir, the pump shuts off. My pump just started doing this after a year of functioning properly.

Jack, sorry to hear there was an issue with your condensate pump. I would be curious to the cause of this as well. Please contact customer service if possible to return for inspection, 844-883-1872

What is the loose disk/ cylinder piece for that is in the water chamber, the float seems to be self contained so not sure what the extra piece is for?

    Asked by: Andrew
I have this pump. If it's a small black disk it is probably the clip that keeps the float (the long skinny cylinder, not the short fat one for an external alarm) attached to the safety switch. The float will tend to stay in place anyway because it, well, floats, but if you're doing any maintenance on the pump you may find that the float falls out without that clip.
