Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not 12.5 gauge wire as listed. I ordered one roll of this wire as a test to make sure it is what I was looking for. It is not 12.5 gauge wire. I called and was giving a return label for the 1st roll and had them ship me a second roll. When it arrived it is the same 14 gauge wire. The pictures show it compared to the 12.5 gauge wire I have. HD has great customer service. I just hope they recognize that customers are not getting what their PAYING for. The contractor that's doing this should be replaced.

However after stretching it just a bit ( I've been building fences for 35 years) it split at the top to about a foot down. After inspecting for why, I discovered the contact welds failed which leads me to thing if some are weak then maybe they all are. I still used all 300 feet I bought because I had no other choice.

So I re-ordered all 200 feet in 12.5 gauge, which seems better but is still not of the strength or sturdiness I would expect, and was actually defective in a number of places where the welding was not done corrrectly. Unfortunately I could not find anything stronger.

Class 1 galvanized is dipped in zinc once. Class 3 is dipped twice. Yet the description says it is Class 1 yet is double coated. Also, galvanized after welding (GAW) is more rust resistant than Galvanized before welding (GBW) because the welding burns the zinc off at the weld points, yet the description claims this product provides "maximum rust resistant" even though it is GBW. What keeps the weld points from rusting? I don't want to order a product which will rust at the weld points. By "double-coated" do you mean it is galvanized before and after welding?

No, but you need to stretch the fence and attach it to posts with staples or clips. This fence is 6 feet tall, not 5 feet. It is a good wire because it is thicker than most you buy at Home Depot.

I bought the 150 foot roll and it was very hard to maneuver by myself because it was heavy. It would have been easier with two people, or 50 foot rolls, but if nothing else is available yes I would recommend buying it. I used it to enclose my 24‘ x 40‘ horse corral with it so I could make a play yard for my chickens. I think it’s good quality. I was able to use some of the leftovers to make trellises for my garden.
