Rated 1 out of 5 by from Best review for Firman. This generator was great when it worked, once you have an issue though there is little to no support, we ran this generator approximately 80 hrs and now there is engine issues and home depot will not do anything as they wipe there hands clean after the sale. Firman support is no help, spend hours on hold to get through and they want me to check valve clearances. No call back or response to emails regarding service centers. I do not recommend purchasing any Firmam product. Horrible service at best. Going on 6 weeks waiting with still no resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Product So Far Purchased this unit for power during outages. Power hasn't gone out since the purchase, so this rating is based solely on the break in. Ran well, and performed as described. I ran a few power tools on it, like table saw and compound saw, and it handled them no problem. Comes with a few useful tools in a rather cheap case, but still a nice idea. Also came with a funnel for topping up the oil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just works I've been using it every day for a week now, and so far, I'm very happy with it. It starts at the first pull, and it's been able to handle all the tools I've thrown at it, including air compressor, and miter saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Quality for the Price The product appears to be reasonably well constructed, and performs as expected. I like that Firman also offers various cords to work with it. Would have been nice if there was a weather cover or something to protect against the elements to run it during storms for backup power, even if available separately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great price point Good generator for the price. Little heavy but works fine for me as I usually leave it in the bed of my truck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy Starts and runs great so far. I also purchased the handle / wheel kit, which I highly recommend.

if the power goes out in my house can i run my fridge off this one?

    Asked by: Robert Rummenie
Yes it will. We've run an entire summer camp site off it including a freezer, camper fridge and all 120V lights and appliances.

How loud is it? (in decibels) My old generator is dying and I need a generator for my travel trailer and wouldn't want one that is too loud and bother neighbors at the campgrounds.

    Asked by: Peter
In decibels, I don,t know, but I don’t think it is any more louder than any generator that size, I like it, works great, easy to start.

Can I connect this generator to my house breaker panel. My water pump is 240 volts with a 15 amp breaker. Everything else that I would need to run in an extended power outage is 120 volts. No need to run more than one at a time.

    Asked by: Chris
Yes. It cost me about $1000 including parts and 25' cable for an electrician too hook up a line to my house panel. Now during a power failure I just hook the generator up to the outside receptacle, start it with the power supply switch turned off, go and throw my switches inside, and then turn the power supply switch to on at the generator. Probably best to have high power items like a water pump turned off when you throw the switch though. It runs my 240V water pump, computer, TV, microwave, toaster, wood boiler and furnace, along with lots of lights and sump pump. I don't run my water heater off it though. It is a great little generator. Best bang for the buck on the market.

If I purchase a Firman generator where can I get it serviced in St. Johns, Newfoundland Canada? Does the same company provide warranty service?

    Asked by: BarterMcGee
I googled small engine repair for St. Johns, and there is an outfit called CG Small Engine repair that would probably be the place to call. As for the warranty, you would have to take a look at your manual that came with the generator. We have had ours for a couple of years and have not had it serviced yet. We don't use it very often. Why this power Generator has a 120V/240v selector Switch? My question ,.. if I set 240V, on L14R-30 I have 2 lines 120V, plus Neutral ?.. I need to know because I want to use with 120V and 240 appliances at same time.

    Asked by: handrade
No, this is a single phase generator, the switch sets the voltage. you cant have both 120 and 240 at the same time. You'll need a 2 phase generator for that.

Can I run this inside a container? I can manage to provide inlet and exhaust?

    Asked by: Technician
You can, just know that it is an engine making CO2. It doesn't throw a lot of heat or noise if that is all you are worried about
