Fiskars D-handle Stand-up Weeder makes it easy to permanently remove invasive plants without sore knees from kneeling, back ache from bending or harsh, costly chemical herbicides that need to be applied multiple times. Just place the head over a weed, step down on the foot platform, and the three serrated, stainless-steel claws will grab the weed by the root for clean removal. An easy-eject mechanism on the handle clears the head between uses for quick and easy cleanup. As a bonus, a large D-handle provides a secure grip and improved control when you're driving the claws into tough soil.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic in the wrong places. Weak steel prongs. After doing a minor amount of research into stand up weeders available, I was convinced this was one of the better tools available. But halfway through my FIRST DAY of use, the cheesy plastic ejection piece cracked, and eventually broke off completely. I continued to use the tool without the piece which was only a minor inconvenience, but still failed to finish the job because the metal prongs started to fatigue in the joint where they meet and the tool was no longer able to "pinch". I am very disappointed as my first impressions on this tool were great, but my experience says, don't waste your money on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Industrial application We purchased two of these products specifically to remove bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare) as part of an ecological restoration project in a 10 hectare park in the Southern Gulf Islands. We removed approximately 5000 plants in 25 person hours. We found the tools very effective for large plants with thick stems, and less useful for smaller plants with smaller diameter stems. This was fine in practice because the smaller plants are easy to remove by hand pulling. The auto eject plastic thing was more of a nuisance than anything so we removed them. Overall I would recommend this product, especially for large-scale uses. If you only have a few dozen plants you should just buy a pair of leather gloves and pull by hand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Bought this last year close to the end of the season and it worked great... Took it out now and did 4 dandilions and its broke at the bottom... Certainly don't recommend this item as it should have lasted longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy This item was good it worked, but the plastic piece to release the weed, broke easily. They need to use better material for this product. Good idea, cheap parts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I got this one sent to me by Fiskars after a cheaper version broke. It was replaced by Fiskars no questions asked and very promptly. It works great and is way more durable than the single prong version.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic Ejector Terribly Designed I've purchased this twice today and after approximately 20 minutes of use each time it has broken at the same location. Once my wife using it, once me. We live in the city with a typical yard. Why this product was designed with a plastic ejector is beyond me - simply make it of metal and charge us more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but not a great buy I just bought and used this weed puller today, and here's my thoughts: The recommended method (by Fiskars) is to plunge the blades into the weed, then use the foot pedal as a fulcrum to pull the weed out at an angle. The blades to plunge into the soil nicely, but that method of pulling simply does not work; the blades just slide off the weed and you get nothing. To actually get the weed out you need to plunge the blades in the rotate the weeder 360 degrees then lift the weed out. The only problem is that it leaves a pretty big hole behind. If the blades were a little smaller, it would be better. I would recommend using this weeder for larger weeds like a fully grown dandelion and such. I would also only use it in dry ground as it doesn't seem to pull damp weeds well. I'm also fully expecting that plastic ejector to break at some point. Not great but not bad. I probably wouldn't recommend it. A solid 3 "meh's" out of 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent product I've used mine for 2 summers now and Lucily the ejector is still working. Dandelions and Thistle are my main weeds and this tool extracts them with easy. The ejector works well but it definitely the tools weakest point and you need to remember to return it to its top. Think of it as a shotgun pump-action and that's how I've been able to keep it intact this long. Overall though, save time and more importantly, my back.
