Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money. There is not one good feature about this pruner except it's length. Even this feature doesn't really matter when the pole sections come apart while I'm using it to saw limbs. The pole section tensioner is not adjustable. Also, the pole is too flimsy when extended. The bypass pruner is worthless as well, It doesn't close all the way when clipping, resulting in binding, leaving you wrestling with the pole to get it unstuck. On my last effort to to use the bypass pruner, the blade broke. Replacement parts are not readily available. This has to be the worst $60 I ever spent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Utterly Worthless After spending a lot of time and effort cutting 2-1/2 inch douglas fir branches I decided to compare this saw to the old one I was replacing. The old worn out saw took 35 strokes back and forth to cut the branch. The new saw took over 400 strokes. At its full, recommended extension, the pole is so flexible it wobbles to the point where keeping the blade in one spot is not possible. Even when you manage to cut a half inch into the branch it keeps jumping out. The other blade is supposed to cut branches over one inch in diameter. Cutting a one inch branch is nearly impossible. Even when I'm strong enough force that blade through the branch, the magic lock on the pole lets go and allows the pole to collapse, so pulling harder on the rope just shortens the pole.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the quality I expected I've always had good luck with Fiskars tools, I expected a top-of-the-line pruner, got much less. Though it's construction looks heavier than other models available, it won't finish the cut. I think it's the engineering/design that's the problem. When using the saw blade, the extension handle is constantly moving, the extension locking mechanism is poorly designed and can't be adjusted. Several times the extension handle pulled right off leaving the main part of the tool hanging in the tree. This one is going back to the store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fiskar Pruner trimmer & blade I purchased this pole trimmer, which slid out of position even after being tightened. The attached pulley-chain pull action, only allows for the little hook,or beak beak like-tool to cut or snip small twigs; don't even attempt to cut anything larger. When I attempted to buy a replacement blade from Fiskar for this pruner, they didn't have a blade with the configueraiton.Their current blade has a different slot and hole for attachment. So don't waste your money and time. It take so many strokes to cut a branch or smaller. Sorry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Couldn't cut a 1/2" twig... Bought it the past Friday. Tried it out. Base pole immediately fell out of the piece that holds the two telescoping poles together. Couldn't loosen or tighten the nuts on it to put it back together because they are protected by a plastic inset. You need special tools for this one. Furthermore, the label had been placed right where the pole needed to slide all the way into this piece. My Dad always had a word for this kind of assembly work: junk. For the scissor action... they say 3X the power. Well, the pulley's that give you that power hit each other before the blade completely closes, leaving you with 0 power and your pole pinched in the limb. My guess is that this is not being assembled like the engineers designed it to be. If the bottom pulley had been moved 2" further down the inner pole, it might work fine... but it wasn't and therefore doesn't work at all. A step ladder and a jack knife works better than this one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pooly assembled Agreed with prior reviewer. The pulley mechanism is too close to the end. The blade is limited by the pulley assembly and it will NOT cut entirely through a branch. No adjustments are available. Very frustrating, especially when you have it extended and cannot reach the uncut branch which hangs from the tree. I have had prior tree pruners which over 10 to 20 years I have worn out. They did not have this issue. I would not recommend the purchase of this product. I will return it to Home Depot and expect a full refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Fiskers Tree Tool I just bought my second Fiskers Tree Pruning/Trimming is this the best tool around. I wouldn't buy anything else, the reason for my second purchase is I wore out my first one over a 13 year period, although I could have used this a few more years, I just wanted a new one. Never had anything go wrong, I love this trimmer it cuts fast, easy, very sharp. If you buy anything else you're wasting your money. My house sits on area of land with about 35 trees x 13 years of use, I got more than my money's worth, thanks Fiskers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not enough... No doubt Fiskars makes some great products and I own several of them. Unfortunately this is not one of them. It's good, not great especially relative to it's price point. My issues are the following: 12 feet isn't long enough; the pruning blade is on the cheap side; the saw is just mediocre because it's too thin and flexes too much. If you have occassional light pruning to do this pole pruner is fine but for everyday use it's not. To their credit HD took it back no problem. My advice is to do some research on manufacturers and look at some reviews from users.
