Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fixed hairline crack on kitchen drainage "T" pipe Very pleased with this product for fixing hairline cracks on a "T" pipe. A "T" drainage pipe isn't expensive to replace but costs a lot of labour! I cut Flextape into 2-feet long thin stripes and wrapped around hairline cracks multiple times, overlapping the previous wrap. It took me only 15-min without having to uninstall the entire drainage system!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality. It didn’t last a day. I used it to fix a leak in my waterfall hose. The hose was dry when I put the tape on. I waited 24 hours before turning the pump back on. The

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ineffective Sealing The tape is super sticky but it didn’t seal the leak. I’m not sure if this is due to the pipe being a soft plastic (waterline hose) vs a hard plastic. After I applied the tape it held but the water found a way to squeeze out and continued to leak. I tried to create a longer tape to make it harder for the water but still did not work for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not really work... Tried it several times, does not really work... I had a pinhole on a copper pipe. Cleaned the pipe and wrapped it well with the tape. Open the water a few hours later and problem solved!!! or so I thought... an hour or so later the water was bursting throught the tape! Cleaned the whole thing and tried again.... same results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor I bought this to do a very simple job: cover a hole in a vinyl boat seat. I applied it and left it overnight. The next day part of the tape had come off. I tried to reseal it but it peeled off again shortly after.

I want to apply a small rectangle of steel wool to the rubber under my garage door to fill in a gap, can I use flex tape to hold the wool to the rubber seal?

Asked by: MJ1990
Hello! Flex Tape has excellent adhesion on many surfaces including PVC, acrylic, metal, steel, copper, aluminum, wood, ceramic, porcelain, tile, glass, rubber, fiberglass, stucco, plaster, stone, cement, concrete, dry wall, EPDM roofs, some plastics, fabrics, some vinyl and so much more. Some materials may take up to 24 hours to reach maximum hold. To apply Flex Tape: 1. Clean surface free of grease, oil, and dirt. 2. Cut tape to desired dimensions before removing the transparent film. 3. Apply with enough pressure to smooth out all air and/or water from the bonding site. If there's anything else we can help with, let us know. Have a FLEXTASTIC day!

will this patch a 1/4" hole on flat copper? And waterproof?

Asked by: Stevey
It will patch the hole, but it's not as waterproof as they make it look on TV. I tried to wrap it around my garden hose where it cracked and it didn't seal it. Water spewed out the sides ant the tape loosened.

Can this tape be used to repair the fabric of a patio umbrella?

Asked by: Sandi
Flex Tape is designed to work with most fabrics. However, you will want to test it on a small area first to confirm adhesion. There are some patio umbrellas that are made of certain plasticized fabrics called olefins which by their very nature are resistant to proper adhesion. These fabrics can contain anywhere from 10% to 90% olefins. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing how much of this polymer is in a particular piece of plasticized material since manufactures do not have to disclose this information. For best results, start with a clean surface free of such things as grease, oil and dirt. Apply with firm pressure smoothing out all air bubbles. Sometimes with fabrics it can be helpful, after application, to apply heat to Flex Tape using a hair dryer. This helps the adhesive to seep into the porous material of the fabric thereby creating an even stronger bond. Unlike other tapes on the market, Flex Tape has a bond that increases overtime. With some fabrics it may be necessary to allow for 24 hours of bonding time. Thank you for your interest in the Flex Seal Family of Products.
