When it comes to commercial plumbing products, American Standard is the clear market leader. The durable construction of the Conical Sponge Washer reveals why. The rubber material holds up in high-use applications and makes it perfect for commercial applications.

It is an *Everbuilt* Jumbo Wax Toilet Bowl Gasket and which is not as tall as the Fluidmaster Gasket pictured. " My toilet stayed perfectly sealed for 10 years with a previous, brand not remembered, extra thick wax ring bought at Home Depot and used to accommodate tile added at that time, but this ring was not tall enough to seal it now. Ended up having to buy a premium, no wax, model. At the very least, Home Depot needs to update the illustration of their product.

It's a wax ring!!! Get over it!The fact is; wax is wax! If your toilet leaks after installation, something else is wrong, don't blame the wax! The wax is used to seal out odors, not "liquids".
That being said, if your flange is at (or below) the floor grade, the flange built into the wax ring can be a very helpful "extension" of the lip that is made into the discharge of the toilet.
HOWEVER, if (like me) your toilet flange actually sits above grade, then the built in flange can (& , for me, did) interfere with the discharge lip, causing the toilet to not sit flat on the floor (kind of rock back & forth). I had to dig the plastic "flange" out of the wax, 'roll' the wax back into a donut shape (yuck!) & reinstall.
If the top of your flange is higher than the surrounding floor, DO NOT buy this gasket! Get one that is JUST wax (& save a buck or 2).
My 2 cents!

It is an *Everbuilt* Jumbo Wax Toilet Bowl Gasket and which is not as tall as the Fluidmaster Gasket pictured. It is identical in height to the Jumbo Oates Johnni-Ring, both of which are only marginally *taller* than a standard ring (they are thicker but not taller) - not tall enough for a 1/2" recessed flange, like that found on a tile floor. Don't waste your time or money ordering this online or driving to the store or you will be sorely disappointed if you've already tried the Oates Jumbo Johnni-Ring. Your only option is to get a non-wax ring from Home Depot or order a true Jumbo ring from your favorite online book seller.

I followed the guys on you tube (place on flange, not on toilet) as the product instructions stated. My new flooring was flush with the flange and the regular ring seemed to fit just right or maybe a little too small. I couldn’t really tell, so I re-installed and went with this larger one, which is large enough to let you know you’re in the right spot and getting a seal. No leaks. I have two more toilets to put back in place after flooring and I will only use this toilet ring.

They work great! Upon initial install/placement of the toilet, the “seal” is made, and we have never had any leaking issue

They'll work with a 1/4", I wouldn't stretch 1/2". You need a flange extender or two.

What is the diameter of the output side of the funnel?
Asked by: Aloha
The diameter of the funnel on the blue gasket is 3 inches. If you are experiencing a inward fold when using it with your flange then we recommend to make a slit on the skirt to relieve pressure so that it straightens out. If i just want a very secure seal, can I just use an extra thick wax instead of the standard one?...
Asked by: CaTrekker
Thank you for your question concerning Extra Thick Wax Toilet Bowl Gasket with Flange @ The Home Depot. It may not be recommended to use extra thick wax with a surface mounted floor flange, as it could place the toilet to high above the floor and allow the toilet to rock. We can recommend using our Better Than Wax 7530 or a standard wax gasket. For additional questions about our products or your installation please contact Fluidmaster’s Technical Service Department. You call this an extra thick seal. How thick is it? How much of an offset between the floor and flange will it work for?

I believe it is close to 2 inches. I have used it in applications where there is up to a 1/4" difference between the toilet and flange.

Is it better to have a thicker wax seal and if so why even make a thinner one
Asked by: bjhdmzeag
If your flange is level with the floor or slightly below it, this ring helps ensure a stronger seal.
