Rated 4 out of 5 by RJJ21 from Powerful but needs a lot of air [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Freeman Pneumatic 3/4 in. Composite Impact Wrench is 9.5 pounds and is big. If you need a powerful impact wrench, this could satisfy your requirements but it needs a powerful air source. I started out with my 3/8 hose reel which was about 75 feet from the compressor and the Freeman would barely turn. I thought it might be defective but after additional troubleshooting and looking closely at the manual, I realized it was not getting enough air because the length of air hose between it and the compressor. When I switched to a 25 foot 3/8 inch line it worked as expected. I was able to remove 150 ft lb torqued lug nuts from my truck that none of my 1/2 inch impact guns have ever been able to break loose. So if you plan to use a tool like this, make sure you are using a short 3/8 inch line or move up to a 1/2 inch line to feed it air. I also noticed it drained my compressor pretty fast. The manual states the tool needs at least 90 PSI at 8.5 CFM and the air line should be no longer than 50 feet at 3/8 inch. Since PSI will drop over air line distance your compressor regulator should be set much higher to compensate. The package included the impact wrench, lubricating oil, a hex wrench, an Industrial quick connect fitting and an Auto quick connect fitting which are 3/8 inch on the thread side (most quick connects are 1/4 inch on the thread side) and fits into a standard 1/4 inch quick connect female adapter. They also included sealant on the threads of the quick connect. You simply screw in the quick connect of your choice, add three drops of oil and you are good to go. The impact wrench has three forward speeds and one reverse speed. It has a torque rating of 1180 ft lbs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ss from Not very good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tested this air gun against two different brands of 1/2 drive air guns and one old worn out 3/4 air gun, and all of them had more power than this gun did. One of them was the Home Depot Husky compact 1/2 drive impact wrench at less than half the price of this one. The way I tested was to tighten a large bolt with one as tight as it would go then use the others to try to take it off. Then I would tighten the nut with one gun and see if the others would tighten it any more. I did this for all the combinations of the 4 different guns. The strongest was the old 3/4 drive, the second was the name brand 1/2 drive full size impact wrench, and almost tied for second was the Husky Compact 1/2, and a distant 4th was the Freeman 3/4 impact. Two of the pictures show a line on the nut that was tightened with the Freeman 3/4 impact wrench and the second pictures shows how much farther the Husky compact 1/2 turned it. Using any of the other guns to tighten the nut the Freeman 3/4 could not even remove it. It does have a nice feel to the gun and easy to adjust the power, it has 3 settings for tighten, shown by 3 little circles the smallest being the least amount of torque and the largest being the most. It only has one setting for reverse which is ok most of the time but if you have a reverse threaded bolt you are tightening it does not give you any adjustment. It does come with the 2 most common air fittings, which is good because the size where you thread in the nipple is larger than the standard size. The standard size is 1/4 pipe and I believe that this uses a 3/8 pipe?? Oh and yes I was using a 1/4 50 foot air hose and tried the compressor at 125 and 165 psi.

The box that the wrench comes in looks a little small in size, but they didnt waste money on fancy packaging and this thing is HEAVY!!!! First impressions is that it is heavy. It is a lot to hold. It feels extremely durable, it is kind of hard to explain this one. It feels better built than almost anything else I have ever bought. The composite materials feel great. I put a steel rule in my pictures for a size comparison. This thing has an amazing amount of power. It comes with two styles of air inlet adapters, so one of them should match your system unless you want to use a high-flow hose. The impact whirrs to life so fast, and yes, it is loud. It is an impact driver. What do you want? I am not an auto mechanic, my home shop is a woodshop and a machine shop, and I work construction during the day. I can not imagine a single scenario where I will ever put this against a bolt that gets the better of it. The only way this wrench wont turn is if it drains your air system of pressure!!!! This impact is a beast. If you need a real workhorse that will last for decades, go for this one.
