Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Quality for Stacking I was so excited for this planter but after filling and planting I am see the bottom box is buckling and this is disappointing! The top boxes are not overfilled by any means.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not very sturdy Stacking of the planters is problematic. When I stacked mine, the two bottom planters bent and cracked open.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Modular planter boxes The planter boxes look very nice , just like the picture. The sides of each planter box are collapsible for storage, so I don’t think it is a good idea to fill them with soil. One of the reviews said that their planter boxes buckled after a few months after filling with soil and plants. We are just putting plant pots in the planter boxes instead of filling them with soil so I believe they will be fine. Also note that the planter boxes are quite deep so if the pots you will be putting inside are small, you need some sort of stand within the planter box on which you can put the pots. They suit our purpose of having nice planters on our balcony, getting plants off the floor. Also easier to store after the end of the season, or to move around if necessary.

Please explain what is meant by "drain lip". I need to understand the drainage, as I live in an apartment. Is there a picture you can show if this lip? Does the water just leak out the bottom directly onto whatever surface the planter sits on?

Asked by: GiGi
The modular garden has an integrated water management bottom part that acts like a saucer under a planter. There is a soil retention wall inside the bottom part of the container. The soil is kept inside this wall and any excess water seeps out in the surrounding area, but still inside the bottom part. It is kept there up to a maximum level to avoid spillage on the consumer floor in case it is used inside home…exactly as a saucer would act under a regular planter.

Is it better to take them inside during the winter or can they withstand the cold?

Asked by: Judy
Yes the modular garden is conditioned for all season, but it is highly recommended to store them inside for better durability. If you prefer to keep them outside, it is suggested to remove the legs and put the bins directly on the floor.

How is the drainage on these boxes? I see a couple of people suggested putting rocks in the bottom to help with drainage, but does water seep out of the bottom or do the boxes “hold it?” (My building has drainage restrictions on plants.)
