Avalanche is a beautiful variegated ornamental feather reed grass. Its narrow and elegant creamy-white striped leaves with lovely pinkish plumes that move in the slightest breeze are noted. Featuring sterile seed means that this clumping grass will stay in one place! An excellent choice for providing garden interest in the form of vertical lines and borders. This cool-season variegated foliage grass loves average soil on the medium to wet side and even does well in heavy clay. For this plant to perform at its best, it requires full to part sun. It will grow to 4-6ft tall and 1-3 ft wide. Cut back old stems to the ground in the early spring before growth resumes.
