Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful product, could use minor improvements Love our pergola, which now allows us to more time under the sun or rain. However, here are some suggestions on how this could be better: The instructions: Obviously not written in English as a first language (company is based in Québec but product is made in China, so maybe a mixture?), there were a couple of points that could have been clearer. For example, you should be sure which way you want the louvers to face (important because of the angle if you want to see sky or louver from your patio door). The vertical posts have specific directional facing for the louvers but the booklet merely shows an arrow, which didn't specify which posts should go where. Not very helpful if you've installed the the entire base and now it's too much trouble to take apart and re-do. Likewise, two of the posts are meant to have specific holes for installing the crank on a specific side, but again the instructions weren't clear, and we just happened to notice before we set them in place. The materials: The screws are not the best (they provided wood screws instead of screws meant for aluminum). As a result, some of the screws kept turning in the holes. Also, it would have been nice if they had provided two crank handles to adjust the louvers, instead of one that has to be moved between the two sides. The installation process: Overall, not a complicated process, it can be done by two people in about 3-4 hours. The most tedious part was installing all the louvers. Additionally, the angle was difficult and a bit too tight in which to manoeuver the Allan key that was provided, so we used our own tool that was shorter. The function: There was a bit of leakage in the seam of one of the horizontal bars, so we had to use some clear silicone. Even so, the water drainage system could be better, as the water doesn't automatically flow to the vertical post that has a drainage hole at the bottom; we have to stand up and push the water to the side. One great feature is the split roof that allows you close the louvers on the two side of the roof separately. For this one feature alone, this pergola is highly recommended over other models that only have a single roof.
