Rated 4 out of 5 by from After a rocky start, I'm enjoying my range. First of all, the range is sleek and beautiful, so I'm very pleased with it's appearance. It's the operation that I'm slowly getting used to. I've had the stove for a month now and, in the beginning, nothing cooked in the time I'm used to. The manual (which you have to print from the web) suggested that the temperature could be "different" from your previous oven but to try it for a couple of weeks before making changes. I bake a lot and lasted two days. On the upside, there is a setting which allows you to adjust the base temperature by up to 35 degrees up or down (I had to adjust upwards by 25). My other complaint is minor but also has to do with temperature. The convection oven has a "convection bake" selection and it also indicates that it has "auto recipe conversion" so it's not necessary to change your temperature when in this mode. Silly me, I thought that was a choice! No, when you convection bake and enter 350 as your temp, the auto feature decides that you really mean 325 and drops the temp! There is no choice about it. To be fair, I've been using convection for 25 years and all my recipes are converted or my mind automatically converts anything new. However, when all is said and done, we are getting used to one another and I am happy to give it 4 stars. I just wish there was a manual that actually referred to this particular model and that it was included rather than leaving me to search for the closest thing online. Oh, and I agree about the amount of elbow grease required to have the ceramic cooktop continue looking good, but that's likely an issue with most such surfaces (this is my first).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding features for a small price This unit has two(2) 3000 watts elements that are gonna make my life easier. Full convection oven in stainless steel (slate color). Quality materials are pretty good with the sole exception of the knobs which are not made of stainless steel, They are plastic. Everything else looks and feels pretty sturdy. Just received my stove(range) today, delivery people were outstanding, very professional and responsible. They removed the hinges of my door to make it fit thru my laundry room. Unit has a very tiny cosmetic blemish which doesn't bother me at all. Overall Service by Homedepot has been unexpectedly superb. I received email confirmation about my online order right away after I placed the order. 3 days after I got another email with the confirmation for delivery and the steps to accomplish to have everything ready for the delivery date. One day before delivery I got an automated called in french about my 4 hour delivery window. The day of delivery I got another automated called 1 hour before they were heading to my home. Being told to wait 1 hour to use the stove and I am very satisfied with my purchase and the overall experience with a homedepot online purchase. I will be ordering the rest of my slate appliances from homedepot pretty soon. Highly recommended online store.

This Range doesn't have any outlets plug and the drawer is removable full width storage drawer, it is not a broiler drawer.

how do you run the self clean. tried according to book. no go.

    Asked by: billybob2
Using the self-cleaning oven. www.GEAppliances.ca The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly. Before a Clean Cycle We recommend venting your kitchen with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood during the first self-clean cycle. Remove broiler pan, broiler grid, all cookware and any aluminum foil from the oven. NOTE: If your oven is equipped with gray porcelain-coated oven racks, they may be left in the oven during the self-clean cycle. Soil on the front frame of the range and outside the gasket on the door will need to be cleaned by hand. Clean these areas with hot water, soap-filled steel-wool pads or cleansers such as Soft Scrub®. Rinse well with clean water and dry. Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglass material of the oven door gasket cannot withstand abrasion. It is essential for the gasket to remain intact. If you notice it becoming worn or frayed, replace it. Wipe up any heavy spillovers on the oven bottom. Make sure the oven light bulb cover is in place and the oven light is off. IMPORTANT: The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off during the self-cleaning cycle of any range. Move birds to another well- ventilated room. How to Set How to Set the Oven for Cleaning WARNING: The surface units are automatically disabled during the self-clean cycle. Make sure that all surface unit controls are turned off at all times during the self-clean cycle. Any surface unit that is set to an on position, while the self-clean cycle is operating, will automatically come on after the self-clean cycle is finished, and could result in an on, unattended surface unit. Wait until the self-clean cycle is finished to set and use the surface units. Touch the CLEAN pad. Using the number pads, enter the desired clean time, if a time other than 4 hours, 20 minutes is needed. Clean cycle time is normally 4 hours, 30 minutes. You can change the clean time to any time between 3 hours and 5 hours, depending on how dirty your oven is. Touch the START pad. The door locks automatically. The display will show the clean time remaining. It will not be possible to open the oven door until the temperature drops below the lock temperature and the LOCKED light goes off. When the LOCKED light goes off, you will be able to open the door. ■ The words LOCK DOOR will flash if you set the clean cycle and forget to close the oven door. ■ To stop a clean cycle, touch the OFF pad. When the LOCKED light goes off indicating the oven has cooled below the locking temperature, you will be able to open the door. You can find this in the manual on geappliances.ca
