Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t Buy This Piece of Garbage! I bought this microwave in 2016 and bought the extended warranty too. Six months out of warranty the unit fail. Paid to have the door switch change, a very common issue with GE (not sure why they have not addressed this issue in their new microwaves but they haven’t) and it lasted 2 weeks. It seems the weak chassis of the unit easily twists over time and causes the switch to fail. After taking the unit apart 2 times, most of the plastic screw holes and retaining clips have broken. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this microwave, in fact stay away for all GE microwaves as this issue persists even with newer models.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High Failure Rate in the first 3 years Check out the 1 Star reviews for a slew of premature failures in the first few years that rendered these units as recyclable. Many, like mine, tripped circuit breakers and died needing replacement. I just hope they've received what I expect as a proper response from either GE or their retailers making things right gratis for the sake of both customer satisfaction and brand reputation. After all, premature product failures always occur it's what's done about it that counts hence reflecting on both product and brand loyalty. That said, I can't recommend this product until I see how my situation is handled.

I called Home Depot and they gave me the number of GE to call and deal with myself! GE will only replace the door, it's out of stock and will take 6 weeks at least for it to be repaired. Terrible service!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from There are better choices The actual machine seems to work well but the installation instructions and the paper template were completely useless. The digital display is impossible to read. The numbers are too close together and poorly designed with dashes and gaps. Unless you are very close you will have no idea what the display says. The options require several taps to get to what you want and seem old fashioned. Not impressed. I am sure there are better options out there but this is what I am stuck with now.

I renovated my house and unfortunately I didn't start using them until about 10 months into the 12 month warranty. After approximately 3 months of light use, they both started tripping the breaker periodically. The wiring in the house is all brand new and they are each on dedicated 20 amp circuits. I'm going to let the staff at the store I purchased them know how disappointed I am.

After multiple replacement fuses and switches this GE model microwave is still not operating and GE customer service was absolutely terrible. DO NOT BUUY THIS PRODUCT!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very long-lived I'm not very impressed with this microwave. For the price, it should definitely last longer than 13 months... It passed the 12 month mark (and it's warranty) and then started breaking it's power circuit when the door was opened. We had to go and switch the power circuit back on every time (thank God it was on its own circuit). Now that I've read the reviews, I can see that it's a common problem. I'm pretty unhappy with it and wouldn't buy it again.

It says: "Assem'd (in inches):16.38, Assem'd Height (in inches) 15.88" Are these numbers backwards? Most other GE over-the-range microwaves are ≥16.19" height and ≥15.16" depth. Please confirm as these dimensions matter for my kitchen!

When the door is open, does it extend beyond the 30" width?

We have cabinets that extend deeper than 13" where the OTR microwave goes. I've already installed one LG unit to find that I can't open the door because of the way the hinge opens the door.
