Rated 1 out of 5 by from Within one year this unit failed. This unit has now failed 3 times in a year and a half. GE and Home Depot will do nothing for us.Thank you Home Depot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointing product. I bought the predecessor to this model in August, 2018 from a Home Depot close to my house in west Toronto. About two weeks ago whenever I opened the door, the breaker would trip. I did a search on Youtube and discovered that this problem is due to door switches that have failed. I had a service guy into look at the unit this morning. He wanted $357CDN to repair the unit. I'm not a happy camper. I paid $125 for the assessment and declined the repair. I think I will go up market and buy something more reliable. Maybe the lesson is "You get what you pay for". I don't know the price of an extended warranty. Typically they are fairly expensive. Its been my practice to decline these in the past. Maybe I will start buying these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two Installed - Both defective Horrible experience. Microwave was installed and it failed testing - turning on by itself, pausing, clearly defective. Now the saga begins. Offer was to have someone fix it under warranty, no thanks, I insisted on getting a replacement. Big mistake!!!! Took four weeks to have a replacement installed. After more than 4+ hours calling Home Depot to get this resolved. New unit installed - DEFECTIVE. Chose the fix it under warranty option this time, which is what I should have done the first time. What happened to GE products??? They used to be reliable...not any more!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just passed warranty and unit trips breaker Just passed warranty period and boom. When the door is opened it trips the breaker. Everything else working fine. Quick google indicates faulty door latch triggering issue. Not impressed as paying for a service call and parts will likely cost the same/more than purchasing a new unit. Really environmentally friendly adding new appliances to dump sites since manu standards are so poor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sort of does the job! We recently purchased this microwave and were disappointed in the product. We bought it to replace the GE Spacemaker we owned for many years which served us well. The microwave has a nice clean look, loads of room inside for cooking and was a great price. The reason for disappointment is that the fan is very loud and though the cooking is hotter and faster than the old microwave it seems to be uneven (hotter on the bottom). For example, a frozen muffin will heat in 20 to 30 seconds but if not turned it will be hot on the bottom and cool on top. Next purchase I would pay more and hope to get a better microwave.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works Great until it Doesn't Bought this GE unit just over 2 years ago. It worked flawlessly until last week when it started tripping out it's dedicated circuit breaker whenever we open the door (see John's review with the same problem). We bought the extended warranty from Home Depot, but it's taken a week just to get a response from Comerco. The local service company they referred the service to can't come for 2 weeks, and they said they'll have to uninstall it and take back to their shop to repair it. Also said a good chance Comerco will write it off as the repairs and travel will almost certainly cost more than the original purchase price. I'm actually hoping they do, as we could use the money towards another make/model. This is our 2nd try (first was a Samsung) and they all seem to suck. The fumes/steam from the stove wrecks them all. We'll be getting separate range hoods and microwaves when we renovate our kitchen. If you want a great unit but that won't last more than a couple of years, this one is good. Not sure any make/model will last in the environment..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Size is great It is working fine & it fit perfectly where the old one was so did not have to cut my backsplash of ceramic tiles . This was a big issue over the other microwave styles which were too big & had a thickness that would of made it impossible to remove the top of some big pots while cooking on my stovetop. Thank-you

I'm looking to replace a GE Spacemakerxl 1400, that installed without external vents, just using the filters. Can this unit be used as a replacement? the dimensions seem to be the same.

Asked by: Tedd
Good day, HOOD EXHAUST NOTE: Read these next two pages only if you plan to vent your exhaust to the outside. If you plan to recirculate the air back into the room, proceed to page 6. Please refer to the manual as the explanation is lengthy.

Does the exhaust fan have more than one speed? (My current range hood, without microwave, has 2 speeds, and I have seen some range hoods with variable speeds.)

Asked by: Dave
Good morning Dave, Yes it 2 speeds, high and low. Press Vent Fan once for high fan speed, twice for low fan speed or three times to turn the fan off.

My existing 20 year old above the range microwave mount is 15 inches to the bottom of the bracket to the cabinet. Below the bracket is a tiled backsplash. Will I need to remove the backsplash for this microwave. I really do not want to.

Please advise what gas stove you own, in order to give the best possible response.
