Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sloppy I really wanted this product to work for me but no matter how many times and windows we tried this on, it came out looking sloppy and unprofessional. If it didn't have the sticky product on the backside it would be fine. Several of the other products just use water to stick the films on the window, which allows you to move the film around and square it up etc. This one has glue and really makes the process tricky. Even on small windows we found it impossible to get every bump, bubble, wrinkle out. From the outside the windows look really sloppy and embarrassing. I spent over $300 on the product for all of my windows and I am disappionted!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product ever Like some I read the reviews and decided to chance it....big mistake! We followed the directions to a -T- and had 3 people installing it. It was awful. It creased horribly on the window and you can not fix it, it is permanently wrecked, scratched easily. It was so horrible we had to toss it out the used section and return the other boxes. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. On the other hand my local Home Depot was awesome and returned it with no issue. A+ customer service from them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy Product This is a very unforgiving product. When two pieces accidentally stick together and you unstick them, the marks will always be visible both inside and out. Each little air bubble is very visible from the outside. Very thin and flimsy, crinkles easily. Also, do not install product without GILA spray. Without it, you will have dozens of air bubbles that are impossible to smooth out. Instead you will have liquid bubbles, which slide out easily with a squeegee. The results don't justify the time and expense. I have used other window film in the past, I will stick to them. Especially Artscape, sold at Home Depot. .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Curls back from edges Could not get the edges to stay down and after getting rather frustrated google finally gave me a logical explanation. It is because of the way it is rolled up in the packaging. It is rolled backwards so it naturally wants to roll back up. To fix this they suggest you roll it up the other way and secure it with rubber bands or twist ties. Then pour very hot but not boiling water through the centre. Let it dry and do it again. Then the natural curl will help the film to cling to the glass rather than pull away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes a difference You have to take your time and follow the instructions. I watched YouTube videos first. Also small bubbles disappear in about a week. The only problem I had with one window was the film rolled back on itself and it stuck to itself and was difficult to unravel and left a couple small marks on the surface. Other than that very happy with the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from À voir plus tard lors de l'installation! J'ai acheté cette pellicule dernièrement et je l'installerai en Aout... Je ne savais pas qu'il fallait une solution liquide pour la poser... Ça aurait été bien d'en être avisé lors de l'achat... Dossier à suivre!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value I found this product easy to install after watching a few youtube videos and taking my time during install. Recommended to have 2 people doing it but can be done by yourself. Overall good product and I recommend it if you have a couple windows needing done but not a whole house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product!!!! Go for it... But.... I just bought this product today. I must say I was sceptical but the result is fantastic. However I know lots of us wants privacy 24 hours night and day but it doesn’t work that way. Yes during the day with the mirror nobody can see me inside and I can see them outside. I read the instruction to make sure I was doing this the right way and I even bought also the Gila window film application solution. So at the end here are my though from good to challenge. Privacy=excellent Mirror effect=definitively + will stop the UV of sun heat and helps reduce any fading that might cause inside your home BUT: just be aware when you install this take your time. Breath and lots of patience. Because whatever the bubble you get along the way it will show big time from the outside. This is not like the other privacy film. Paper is very fragile and don’t put too much solution. I am not picky and I don’t think it’s realistic to put a cabin picture as an example. If you have a cabin you have the money to hire someone to do this or even buy a window with this kind of effect already. For small house like mine or condo apartment privacy it’s perfect. I did it because my plan down the road is to buy a real mirror window but for now it work and items prefect. My neighbor has the black privacy but not through a windows film but the real black window privacy and even so when she turn the lights at night I can see her. When it’s black outside anyway I close my curtain. You can’t see anything anyway so when you think about it night close your curtain or install some. No big deal...beside why would you want to have 24 privacy so you can walk naked Around the house... you can’t see anything anyway... it’s black - but during the day it’s very nice to have that kind of privacy and leave your curtains open. I see so many people closing their blinds or curtain. It’s too bad when it’s so beautiful outside and can your lands. So from good to challenging I still recommend this product big time.

do you apply this on the outside of the house or inside? so after installation, it means the outside cannot see inside and inside can see outside? (((((just wanted to make sure because i have had one that turns into mirror for whichever side brighter)))

Asked by: nadia
You apply it on the inside and you can see out but can’t see in when the lights are off. It’s mirrored when the light is on.

I will be installing this in a rental unit. How easily is this removed? Is it harder to remove the longer it’s been on? If it gets ‘baked’ on, would something like Goo Gone be sufficient to remove all traces? Or can you recommend a product?

Asked by: Mary Jane
Very easy to remove.  I removed it after 4 yrs and there was a little bit of residue left.  Came off easily with a scatter

Is there a product like mirrored Privacy Film that works for privacy both day and night?

Asked by: Buffy
There are mirrored films that work day and “better” then this one at night, but these are much darker, letting much less light to go thru.  Usually visibility would be 25% or less when looking from inside out.  The above product is good.   The bad reviews are there because inexperienced individuals installing this product and improper installation.   Proper fluid to use is light soap/water solution.  You spray it on your window, then on the glue side of the window tint/film.  Once applied to the window, spray the side of the film you will be “gently” squeezing out the air bubbles.  I use credit card, any credit card as it is super easy to work with.   Keep in mind, squeeze out air bubbles, but tiny liquid bubbles are ok as within a week they will dry out and disappear.   Remember the preparation of your window will decide the results of you installation.   Make sure your window is absolutely clean.  Everywhere, including frame as dirt will transfer during installation and affect the adhesive in the film.  Cut film about 1 inch bigger around each side for easier cutting.  Cut with brand new scalpel knife or small and very sharp utility knife.  Squeeze out air bubbles from inside to the outside perimeter.  Work your way in a star pattern.   Get that film right to the frame, flush so it can be perfectly cut.  When I did mine, it looks like as if the glass has built in mirror into it.  Do not apply in direct sun.   I can’t stress enough, areas must be absolutely clean, free of dirt, oils, lint, hair.   Wash your hands before installation     Spray film liberally, flood it.  When it’s wet, it won’t crinkle, crease and it can be pulled back if placed incorrectly.   Take your time as you have plenty time to work with.   Don’t press very hard on the tool you decide to use but firmly and spray the outside surface of the film that tool is being used on so it acts as a lubricant and minimizes possibly of any scratches.  Hopes this helps
