Before you buy this product note that it doesn't come with a drain, nor does it tell you anywhere in the included paperwork, or on their website, the proper size to purchase. In addition, the drain cover, is a different colour from the base (which is different from the photos - both the base and the cover were the same white). That being said, the CSR from Glacier Bay was VERY helpful (more than the actual staff at Home Depot).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hideaway drain cover failure I found it odd that the hideaway drain cover is a different colour than the rest of the shower base. It completely defeats the purpose of a hidden drain. The whole point is not to draw attention to it. Of course all the pictures they have including in the box do not disclose this error from the manufacture. I also see that the only other review complains about the same issue and yet they still have not corrected this.

It always looks bright and white - I’ve had it installed in the photos for two months and I’m still happy . We will be getting another one for our ensuite. My husband installed it said it was straight forward to install (but maybe if only if you’ve done something like it before)…

Was worried about the drain cover being a different color based on other reviews however it is 100% the same color as the rest of the pan (bright white). Was able to install a fixed glass shower panel to this base pan and the wall without any issues. Would definitely repurchase if we refinish another bathroom!

The shower pan identifies as "self-leveling". What does this mean? Does it require thinset mortar beneath it and the subfloor?

Yes, you should always cement your base to the floor. Level and secure. Leave an 8” square cut out for drain assembly.

A couple of reviews of the glacier bay shower base (60x32) suggest that the drain cover is not the same colour as the base itself.  What is the colour then?

This is the case for most shower bases of the same type and the color difference is because the cover is made up from a slightly different material than the base itself. Is their a set of sliding, 1 side fixed shower doors that fit this narrow 2 3/8 threshold curb. We notice most sliding doors require 2 3/4 min.

You can get the specs of a Home Depot tub or shower if you scroll down to the manual section about the product. Regardless the drain will never line up to existing you can expect to readjust or offset slight to connect.

Drain is dead center at 16" ,roughly 5 1/4" ish back from wall. Hope this helps.
